WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A HOME PAGE?
When you apply for a Cybertown apartment, if you tell us your URL (Home Page address) we'll go visit it
and if all is well, we'll create the link from your apartment number to your Home Page.
The benefits are that you get a free link to your Home Page from a high profile, high visibility site and become a member of a very fast growing community. We've also set up a Community Bulletin Board where you can post messages and interact with other residents. There are also several Chat Rooms in town, including a multimedia visual Chat Room with avatars and even a 3D VR MUD (multi-user Dungeons and Dragons game). This is the only place we know of where you can live in an off-world apartment in the future!
We're going to be adding a lot more attractions and activities to Cybertown. You'll also be able to get involved in the creation and growth of Cybertown if you wish. This could include such things as writing for CyberNews, helping design new areas of town and new interactive activities as well as voting and participating in the Cybertown Town Council.
What might make a
Home Page not acceptable? Well, Cybertown is a family-oriented site that includes children among its visitors,
so a Home Page that includes pornography or sexually-explicit links or encourages crime would not be appropriate, for instance.
Cybertown is set in a future where
people are not discriminated against on the basis of personal beliefs, sex, age or race and a future where people
are not attacked for these things, so Home Pages containing nasty attacks on other people would not be appropriate.
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A HOME PAGE?
Well, you can either create one or get one created. We have a page of simple and effective tools that you can use to create your own Home Page. If you'd like to download software to help you create your own Home Page, click here. You can either create one yourself or have a friend do it or even pay someone locally to do it (it's not very difficult). Alternatively, you can automatically create one online at the links below.

To put a 3D Virtual Reality apartment on your Home Page make a link to http://www.cybertown.com/couple.wrl (or single.wrl or student.wrl depending on which size apartment you want) and name it something like My 3D VR apartment.
To put a link to Cybertown on your Home Page (appreciated), use the http://www.cybertown.com address.

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I HAVE A HOME PAGE CREATED?
Many Earth access providers provide a free directory on their server to anyone who has an e-mail address with them into which a personal Home Page can be placed. Occasionally they charge a small fee for this but often it's free. If you call them, they can tell you how to upload your Home Page to them.
If your access provider doesn't provide this service, use the free Home Page hosting link above to submit your Home Page to Nitehawk who will host it for free. Once you have the address of your Home Page from them, e-mail it to us and we'll create the link.
After you've applied, you can check to see if your new apartment is up by clicking on the SEARCH HERE link on any Colony page. You can also use this link to search for residents with similar interests.
