Some people on Earth believe that they only live once and that once their body is dead, that's it - despite much evidence to the contrary. Funnily enough, these people are in a minority at this time as close to three quarters of the people on Earth do believe there is more to life than this. Unfortunately the way things are set up, many humans don't remember their previous lives - but many more than is realized do have such memories - sometimes in very precise and verifiable detail.
This page is dedicated to those who have either had experiences separate from their bodies and have realized that they are not their bodies and to those who have experienced death and who have yet returned to tell the tale.

EXPERIENCES
1) "I work in the health care profession with terminally ill patients. I am usually with these patients during the last months, weeks, days, and moments of their lives. Some patients have experienced clinical deaths prior to their actual passing. I have been told by 90% of these patients that during their clinical death they have an out of body experience, usually being able to witness the viewing of their physical body with great detail. All claim to be in a more peaceful state of being while in this state. And many have reported that they wished that they could have remained in this state as opposed to returning to the physical plane where they were experiencing a great deal of physical pain or suffering. What I personally find noteworthy about these findings is that these patients come from diverse social economic racial and religious backgrounds. 70% are over the age of 55 years and would not consider themselves in touch with "new age" thinking."
2) "In 1990 I was in an automobile accident/lame suicide attempt. I was rushed to ICU with a flail (crushed) chest. I died 3 times.
Each time there was a sensation of floating, looking down on myself on the bed, followed by what I can only describe as loud noise (I'm deaf, so matching it to a noise is not possible). Just when I thought I couldn't fall any faster, I landed gently on 6 or 7 rows of black and white checkerboard tiles. I walked to the last row where the edge was, and started to lean forward to walk over the tiles. Below was the most intense emptiness I've ever known. I felt pissed off and exasperated. I started to walk off the edge and a "voice" came to my head scolding me "EDDIE!!!" Again, the deaf thing comes into play, but I knew it was my mother who died a few years before. I felt her hand grab the back of my neck and pull me back. When this happened, I woke up in the hospital bed.
As I said, I had the exact experience three times."
3) "Once, I was with my boyfriend at the lake. We were sitting on the dock talking. Somehow or other I fell in. I can't swim at all and I'm terrified of the water. It was late, so no one was there to pull me out except my boyfriend. I remember drowning and hearing the fuzzy sound of my name being called. I remember drowning and feeling sorrowful. Then I heard my boyfriend call my name again. I knew I had to go back to him. And I did."
4) "When I was 16, about 10 years ago, I was with my girlfriend
camping in my van on some abandoned house, it was raining like
I had never seen before, I went outside to take a leak and a
thunder hit me. I remember standing up and my girlfriend
sitting on the floor crying. I went up to her and she
wouldn't answer me, so I turned back to see what was she
looking at and I saw my body laying on the floor. Then everything started fading away
and I woke up in some hospital. It
was a pretty terrifying experience."
5) "I was formerly a sculptor and I used a lot of big steel beams in my outdoor installations. I was working alone in my studio one day when there was a hideous accident when the portable steel saw I was using slipped; severing my leg. Amazingly, I felt no pain; even though I was bleeding profusely. I saw everything very clearly for a few moments, then the exterior world faded and I saw a fabulous vision of the Sacred Heart. Then I heard a melodious voice telling me that my time had not yet come; and I must return. I was very reluctant to go back because I had never felt such peace and joy. Gradually the vision faded and when I returned to consciousness I was in the ambulance. I still have no idea who called 911 because I was alone on the property, but the paramedics claim to have seen a woman in white leaving my studio as they arrived. I have no idea who she was. After two years of sometimes painful therapy, I can now walk again using a prosthetic limb. I feel that I have found my true calling spreading the gospel of Our Lord and Saviour among the disabled."
6) "Well, I once was sleeping, and I woke up. I found myself floating towards a big, white light in the middle of my room. I wasn't sucked in, because I struggled. It was really weird, and it wasn't a dream, because I went to school right after that, with no in-between period. It was either real, or I have been dreaming for about 25 years. I still don't believe it, but I felt like talking to somebody."
7) "When I was approximately 12 years old, I was out on my bicycle
on my street jumping curbs. I did this often as a child. I really
enjoyed jumping this one curb that was very steep. The last time I jumped
that curb my foot slipped off the pedal and I flew off the
bike over the handlebars straight into a tree. I saw the tree
flying straight at me. At that exact moment, I knew I was dead.
The only thing I could say was, no. As I screamed "NO!" I felt
a very HOT sensation flow through my body for an instant. I then
became unconscious. When I awoke a few moments later, I saw that
I was on the other side of the tree. I knew there was no way
I could have missed the tree. When I stood up, I realized my
entire body was covered in tree sap. I have no explanation on how
it happened, but I passed THROUGH the tree unharmed."
8) "I once woke up and was standing next to my bed looking at my body. Then, I freaked out, and did not like it. I then opened the door to wake my sister, but I could not open the door, cause my hand did not function. I then woke up."
9) "I remember when I was about six years old, waking up in the middle of the night.
I don't know what it was that woke me, but I do know that once awake I was starring
nose to nose with a brown bear standing motionless and silent at the head of my
bunkbed. This worried me quite a bit, so, after laying motionless and silent for
what seemed to be eternity, I quietly exited via the foot of the bed moved swiftly
out of my bedroom and off to tell my parents of my encounter. Needless to say, they
saw no real need to investigate and I seemed pretty safe in their room.
Of course the bright morning sun had chased off my nocturnal visitor by the time
I would return and find my older brother soundly sleeping in the lower bunk. They can
say what they want, but I can still see the moonlight sparkle in that great bear's eyes
today........ "
10) "Like one time I was driving and I crashed into a tree
and I left my body and floated around the city for a while
until I awoke at the hospital! COOL HUH?"
11) "I was about ten years old and I was going to make an operation in order to take away my tonsils.
Everything was just
fine until I should be put to sleep; they put a gas mask over
my face and I first started to see bending wavy lines in red
on one side and green on the other. At the same time I heard
an awful loud eery sound - then suddenly everything was comp-
lately calm, yet I was still awake. I was only about ten, but
the transparent woman I saw laying down, floating in the air
in the middle of a black but peaceful darkness was - me!!!
I was just about ten to fifteen years older!!! My older self
was conscious, but resting with closed eyes, and I was some-
where outside my body, looking at her, laying as if inside
the body and on the brits, but I could only see "her"/"me",
this clearly visible, but completely transparent - WOMAN."
12) "Once when I was about 7 years old, I had a really bad case of pneumonia. I was lying in my parent's bed, when all of a sudden I felt like I couldn't breathe. I gasped and choked for a moment, screaming for my mom. Then, strangely, I watched the scene unfold for myself before my very eyes. I felt as if I were hovering a few feet above the bed, staring down at my own motionless figure, with the blue face. Watching as my mother ran in, I tried to yell at her, tell her that I was okay. But she just started screaming and crying, and acted as if she couldn't hear me. As I watched she ran to the phone. Later she told me that she had dialed 911. When the paramedics arrived I watched as they performed CPR. It had only taken them a minute or two to reach my house. Suddenly, I was back inside of my own body. I have told this story to many people, and some say that it must have been a dream. But I know it wasn't. Because after they were able to revive me for a moment, my lungs failed again. I was rushed to the hospital. Today I am blessed with life, but left with only one lung."
13) "When I was 17 I overdosed and died for about 6 minutes. The maximum flat-line is 5 and I saw hell face to face."
14) "I got totally sloshed one night. I registered over 2.0 on
the breathalyzer. I ended up heading north on the south-
bound lanes of an Interstate. The last thing I remembered
was huddling my car up against the guard rail - there was no
room for me to get completely off the expressway - while
sets of headlights rushed toward me at 70 miles an hour with
horns blaring. The next thing I remembered was the flashing
red lights of a police car come to rescue me. I was taken
in to jail, released to my wife, given a reduced sentence.
I quit drinking, became a wonderfully well-adjusted as I
watched my children grown up, move on to begin families of
their own, became a grandfather... Only there is that blank
space between the time I realized I was on the wrong side of
the expressway about to be obliterated by one semi after
another hurtling toward me, and when the police arrived with
his flashing light, the time between the attacking white
lights and the saving red light. What if I didn't survive
that night? How would I know? What if all that has
happened since has been an illusion? An instant from now I
could wake up and realize that it all has been an illusion,
these past thirty years. How will I ever know for sure?"
15) "One day I was fishing with my dog and I fell in and drowned then it was like I was in a dream but then my dog pulled me out and I woke up with him licking my face."
16) "Once I fell and when I woke up, I was in a totally different place! weird..."
17) "My boyfriend and I were out doing drugs one night and on the way home we got into a car accident, I remember feeling warm and seeing bright lights...my boyfriend took my hand and when I turned around I saw our bodies laying on the pavement...next thing I knew I was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital...my boyfriend wasn't as lucky as I was though, he really did die."
18) "I have died many times and gotten a new life. My closest guess of how many lives I have lived is about 14. They all have similarities and I meet people from other lives in new lives with their personalities the same but bodies, race, sex... different. The main thing you must watch out for when doing past life regression is to not get stuck in a replay of one of your deaths for you can get stuck and be catatonic for a long time ((I did for 3 months))"
19) "I have strange feeling sometimes. I remember some of my previous lives. If I close my eyes and leave myself to be led by mindstorm I usually see uncommon things. I'm sure I fought in the 1st World War, I think I was a German soldier. I know I died in Japan in 1492. I remember my name, my rank, the shiro I should defend and I failed. Before this time I was a Scottish man or woman, I can't remember, but two things are clear: I loved whiskey and the national music. I lived somewhere in Europe in the XIII or XIV century, I was somebody related to the royal household. Maybe I was a musician. Also, I had a very bad life in Greece, sometime before Christ, I was a humiliated woman. I will never go there, because I feel pain still. I lived in France at the Revolution, in 1789. I do remember something, but it was a bad life for me.
I know all lives are to improve the soul and prepare for something, I don't know exactly what for.
Maybe, I have to live at least one more life, because this one is not perfect, but can be.
Finally, I do not use drugs, never drink alcohol... yes, maybe I'm crazy, but what can you say if you know five seconds before the phone rings who will call you and why, and what are you if you can read people's minds like an open book? And what is the conclusion if you can see your light dark aura?"
20) "In my childhood I experienced out of body experiences on numerous occasions.
This only occurred whilst living with my grannie. Whilst sleeping in my
grannie's bed I would feel myself floating up to the ceiling and looking down
on the room to see everything in its place. Upon wakening up I would feel funny wondering if this was a dream or if this
was reality. Now that I am older I am still unsure if this was a dream or reality."
21) "I have died."
22) "I was at The Convention for Failing Immune Systems late last year.
I was reading this advertisement for plastic bubbles (you know?
to live in) when I had to sneeze. Well, I couldn't sneeze because
I might get kicked out and I really wanted that plastic bubble.
I held my my nose in a futile attempt at stopping this pathogen
ejaculation. I Blew my !@#$#@#$% head off by holding my
nose when I sneezed. Well I died and as part of the task for
getting my wings to eventually go to heaven I must warn people
of this mistake I made. I only hope that people can learn from
this and just not hold their nose when they sneeze. Convention for
Failing Immune Systems or not. It's just not worth it man!!! For
more information call the HOLDING YOUR NOSE IN SIN
Hotline at (1-317-747-9480) They can help. Thanks for your
time.........."
23) "I have experienced 'astral projection' several times. I have seen myself several times from a distance. I have gone to Hawaii while my mortal shell has slept. Don't believe me?...I have the postcard to prove it!!!"
24) "People want more than one life. Because they don't like
the one they have now. Or maybe they are just afraid to
die..............
I've had a near-death experience. Saw nothing, Heard nothing,
felt nothing. I was just dead!"
25) "When I was 11, me and my family went camping at Lake Gaston
(the part crossing into Virginia) and we slept in the kind
of tent that has a separator in the middle...well anyways
what happened was while we were sleeping I woke and had to
use the bathroom...so I headed up to the bathhouse and
after I was done..I stepped out and closed the door...when
I turned around I was staring right into the eyes of a baby
bear on its hind legs...I was scared as heck..
I guess I passed out and woke up with the same baby bear
sniffing me, licking me, and touching me with one of his
paws...I figured it would be all right to pet it so I did..
then out of nowhere the mom-bear comes running up growling
very loudly at me 'cause I was with her baby...I started to
run (not knowing any better), I ran all the way to the tent
and kept on going to the ranger station were I banged on the
door..when no one answered I kicked the window and broke the
glass out of it....climbed in and then there was a *BOOM*,
I peeked through the broken window and there was the
mom bear sitting back and seeming kinda disoriented...it
started walking away and wobbling a little bit...I then
started to walk back to the tent but before I did I wrote
a note saying why the window was busted and why the side of
the station had a large dent in it...I never did see the
mom bear again...I did see the baby walking around near the
bathhouse so I kinda changed course and went to the tent the
back way..so to speak...."
26) "EVERY DAY IS A NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE."
27) "Whenever I want I can leave my body -- weird."
28) "Several months ago I was asleep in my bed and I was dreaming. In my dream I was dead. The dream opened up with my eyes totally captivated by a bright white light. It felt like the light wasn't singular, it felt like it was made up of many somethings, kind of like a collective of souls. Around me small orbs of light, singular the way the main one wasn't, would drift slowly past me and I felt a tugging at the edges of my self, kind of like I was at the edge of a river, in the shallows, but far enough out to feel the pull of the current, and I wanted to flow with it so badly. And then I began to look around. I realized that for some reason I didn't care about anything. It was as if everything in my life and everyone else's life had ceased to affect me emotionally. It was mildly interesting to look at my friends and see them in tears, or laughing, but it didn't touch me inside. And the funny thing was that although I was in a room I could look past the walls at any place, at any time. And then I looked down and I saw myself, my body, laying as if asleep, but too still on a bed in a sparse room I wasn't familiar with. The walls I knew were white, but everything was bathed in a blue light and everything had a blue tint. I remember looking down at my body, I was hovering in the air, and I remember being touched by this sadness, this infinite sadness, because I knew I couldn't lose my self in that beautiful current, I knew I couldn't join that gorgeous collective and be accepted, for a change, for the beauty inside me. And I gazed at my body and slowly I sank down until I was on the bed. I then lay down in my body, and woke up. It was six in the morning, and usually when I wake up that early my eyes are grainy and heavy, and I'm stiff, but this time I was completely rested and not a bit stiff. It was a beautiful dream, but it was more than a dream. Dreams have a certain detached feeling to them. In this case my consciousness had been fully absorbed in what was happening. I had never really thought much one way or
another about whether death was good or bad, but since my "dream" I certainly look forward to it. The feeling of relaxation and peace was so strong because nothing in my life was important any more, nothing had to be worried about. There was so much more to the dream, I couldn't begin to go into it because it was mainly feeling and it's rather hard to describe. It was just so beautiful. I tell people about my dream and the "soul collective," and they tell me I'm stupid."
29) "Quite often, I find myself walking in places I've never
been. I see people that I've never seen. I try to talk to them
but they never respond. This happens when I'm awake as well
as asleep. I can sometimes walk through solid objects as well.
But, it doesn't feel like walking. Am I having an out of body experience?
There is always a significant loss of time when this happens.
And I can't remember what I was consciously doing at that
particular time."
30) "I died and came back as a ghost that's all I have to say, thank you."
31) "I was having sex one time when I suddenly had a weird
sensation (no it wasn't my first orgasm). I was floating over the bed
and watching my partner going on as if I were still there. I
still felt like I was having sex. Suddenly I was violently
dropped back into my partner's body and she was put in
my body. Now I have the personality of a man but the body
of a woman."
32) "I walked into a wall and knocked myself out and then I died and came back to life."
33) "Just last night I had a very strange experience. I lost
myself. I cannot explain exactly what happened. All I know
is that I was no longer "thinking" or connected to my
brain. There was a strange sensation and I lost contact
with my ears. I could not hear anything. I began to
struggle, then all senses came back to me. That is all I
can tell you."
34) "I remember I was hit by a car when I was 10. I was riding my bike and I didn't look both ways. There the car came flying down the road and hit me. I felt myself sort of being lifted up and I turned my head around, and there I was, lying next to my bike. I remember feeling like I wasn't real but yet I was. It was strange. Then I remember feeling real sleepy and I felt like lying down, next thing I remember, I was in the recovery room."
35) "I had a dream that I was outside in the inner city of L.A. and derailed a train and killed 400 people and I also dreamt that I kidnapped two people and when I woke up there were two missing and a train derailed in L.A."
36) "Once when I was about 12 I had a dream that these guys were upstairs in the kitchen banging pots and pans and making a mess and then I woke up and heard noise in the kitchen. It was really loud. Then it stopped. When I got up in the morning the kitchen's cabinets were all messed up. But the weird part is that I remember what the guys looked like."
37) "It was about three months ago that I had fallen on a
rock and split my head open. You see, me and my girlfriend
were hiking through this river system in Ohio and I slipped
on some moss. I remember flying out of my body through my
skull and picking myself off the ground and out of the water.
I looked at my girlfriend as she started to cry, I looked in
her eyes but she looked right through me. I tried to touch her
face but I guess you can't touch heaven if you're already there.
I then threw my body into the river and watched it float
downstream. I then remember blacking out. When I awoke,
I was at home in my bed. My girlfriend didn't remember going
hiking that weekend and I thought she was joking. Then I
remember walking through the woods the next day.
I started walking along a stream and as suddenly as it had
appeared, my blue duffel bag floated by, then disappeared."
38) "This isn't a 'near death' thing or anything but I keep on having dreams of a house I have never been in before yet I always have the feeling that I have and I'm very familiar where rooms lead. I don't know what to think."
39) "I have dreamt that I was a Frenchman during the inquisition and I was accused of being a heretic. They killed my wife, my children... I would have died too if I had not run into a monastery where they had no idea of my notoriety. I lived there comfortably until people no longer remembered me. After that, I led a sad, unfulfilled life."
40) "I can remember a beautiful place, with beautiful colors, beautiful music and it is not a dream
as I thought for a long time . It is a real memory . And I'm hoping that this is the place I'm going to when I die."
41) "In 1978 I was in a motorcycle accident. I was a passenger on the back of my buddy's bike.
We were going down the street at a rather high rate of speed. My friend didn't see the stop sign at the intersection, and we hit a car.
I remember "floating" above my body, looking down at myself, my friend, the motorcycle.
The next thing I remember, I was screaming "NO!" and taking off my helmet and throwing it to the ground."
42) “In 1993 me and my boy friend Carleton had left Tiertex and were driving to a gig in the village. Just as we passed Oxford Road Station, I went all funky in the head, I felt as if a great weight had come over my body and my limbs couldn't move. The world around me went bright and false, all I could hear was Carleton shouting Curley darling, the world went black then white, bright white. I was looking down on our car, a red Ford. I watched the car slowly smash into a white Citroen car, it was horrid but I felt strangely calm. At that I heard a scream, Carleton's scream, I felt my body arch, blackness and I was back. I and my Carleton were okay, just a little bruised. The man in the other car, an American chap called Greg had been drinking and had lost control of his car. I believe that day I left my body for a moment, why, I don’t know.”
43) "On September 18, 1978, I was eleven and riding a 50cc
Honda mini-bike around the family farm. It quit and
I could not get it to kick start. It must have overheated because the
exhaust pipe was red-hot. I decided
to push it down a hill on the road to get it started.
It started but didn't have enough power to get me back
up the hill. I had the throttle wide-open and in first
gear and it was barely pulling itself up the shoulder of
the road. I walked beside it as it went up the hill.
I never heard the Chevy pickup coming from behind me.
The driver of the pickup never saw me; the sun was just
above the road and the asphalt glassy because of the
hot fall day. He was traveling around 60 mph.
I was in severe shock to the point that my body functions
started to shut down; I told my mother that I was blind
while in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. By the
time I got to the hospital, the veins in my arms and legs
had collapsed and they had to blood-type me by drawing blood
from my stomach area above the pelvis. I was in the
hospital six weeks. I was pretty much a mess. I know I am
lucky to be alive. I do not know if I had a "near-death experience."
What I do know is that I had the same nightmare
repetitively for a long time after the accident.
I was viewing a procession line from above. The
room was absolute darkness with the exception of
a man that glowed in pure white light. The light
seemed to come from within rather than shining on
him. I don't have an image of the man in my mind,
just an impression of a silhouette surrounded by
an aura. The procession line went off into infinity.
The man was clearly the judge. A person would come
up, get on their knees and beg for mercy. They
would repeat over and over, "Please don't kill me.
Please don't kill me. I haven't done anything wrong.
Please don't kill me." and eventually the man would
lash out and the impression I have is of chopping
off the head. Then that person would fade and the
next would come up and do the exact same thing.
Now 18 years later, I don't remember if this was just an
ordinary nightmare or actually occurred at the time of
the accident with follow-on nightmares; I remember
very little from age 11 to about age 15. I think that
the mind tends to block out hard memories. I believe that
when the body experiences trauma, the brain is affected by
the shock and a type of day-dreaming occurs. I do not
believe in the after-life."
44) "Briefly, I am a 53 year old woman who, in Feb. 1993,
had been very ill with a flu on top of several chronic
ailments, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I thought I
was dying, as I was so weak and had not been able to get up
to eat, and I could not have eaten I was so weak, anyway.
So, I fell asleep. During the night, I had a very vivid
dream vision of my self being up on the ceiling and looking
down at my body sleeping on the bed. I saw the figure of a
very, very large man sitting next to my prone body, and as
he massaged my back, I suddenly heard the words, "The
father is healing the daughter." Then I felt very warm,
radiant waves of energy flow through my body and I was
back inside my body on the bed.
When I awoke the next day I recalled the dream
vision and realized I felt totally!! all better, with
no pain, no fatigue, no weakness or depression... etc.
I remained totally happy and pain-free for over a week,
and then the Chronic Fatigue symptoms began to come back.
I feel I had a near-death experience during my sleep
and was healed by my father who had passed away in spirit
in Jan. 1980."
45)"My name is Cynthia. When I turned 16 years old, I had an experience of Out of Body. It seemed so real, but in very slow motion. At the time I got pneumonia. Maybe I was just hallucinating but it seemed like a message from God. After that I have been more aware of my inner self. Strange symbolic signs and visions have came to me."
46) "This story is not about a near death experience, but rather about a spiritual encounter. As a child my family did a lot of traveling on account of my father being in the Air Force. We spent a great deal of time together on the roads before flying to our destinations overseas. Well, on this particular occasion, we had stopped in California to stay with a friend of the family for a few days for rest and a long needed visit. She was a widow, mothering two daughters, whose husband had died of cancer a few years prior. On one particular morning, about 1 am to 3 am, as I was sleeping on the floor of the living room, I suddenly awoke from a deep sleep. Having a feeling of being closely watched, I lifted my head to examine the dark room. There in front of my lying body, two to three feet in front of me, was a transparent, blurry figure of a man sitting Indian style. I squeezed my eyelids together to make sure that I wasn't seeing a hazy blur from having watery eyes. I was completely awake by then. To my surprise, my first reaction was to wave my hand to him for some kind of reaction. I don't know why to this day I did that, but I must not have known what I was viewing at the age of 8. No movement came from him, just a blank cold stare, right at my eyes. I was so frightened by now that a could not talk or even nudge my sister who was sleeping right next to me. I proceeded to cover my head with my blanket, sweating profusely, I fell asleep like that. I told my sister, father and mother about the incident the following morning, only to be told that I was only dreaming. No, it was definitely NOT a dream!!!"
47) "I keep having dreams of this swimming pool.
It had an early twenties art-deco type feel to it.
There are beautiful swimmers around it, drunken flappers and their gentlemen.
I am hiding in the surrounding shrubbery watching them.
I take pictures of them, of a certain woman especially.
A man, a bodyguard or something, sneaks up on me and drags me out.
He hits me very hard, accidentally, I think, and kills me.
Then I wake up. The dream is much more vivid than an ordinary dream would be.
The details never change, and I feel the emotions, the excitement of getting the pictures, and the fear of the bodyguard, with extreme vividness.
It is very real."
48) "i have very serious asthma
when i was twelve i had to run the mile in p.e. class
my asthma is exercise-induced
i collapsed dead after class
i was dead for twelve seconds
it seemed like twelve years to me...
it was wonderful
i was happy, floating, drifting through the clouds...
i almost can't wait to die for good."
49) "When i was 19 i was really in love with an Indian girl. She dumped me and i thought i was never going to get over it. She refused my calls and any attempt to see or contact her. I wanted to see her desperately. I told myself that before the day was over that i would see her. At midnight me and a good friend went to a midnight movie. The movie had already started when we went inside to sit down. I could barely see from being in the well lighted lobby just moments before. My friend and myself went in and sat down. When my vision started to adjust to the dark, my ex-girlfriend and her mother were sitting in the seats in front of us."
50) "I came home from school one day when I was 15 or 16 yrs old
and lay down on our couch in the living room to take a nap. Soon I
felt myself floating. I looked down and saw my body lying on the couch. I was very
scared and began to struggle, and tried to scream, I remember hearing my voice,
and I suddenly felt like I was "sucked" back into my body and I opened my eyes.
My mother was sitting nearby and I asked her if she heard me scream. She said no.
I was very terrified and to this day I wonder if it was a dream."
51) "I won't go into detail at this time but what I learned from a near-death experience was this: All life in the universe is energy. ALL ENERGY IS RELATED and equal. There is NO energy in the universe that wants or even needs to be worshiped. Finally, the possibilities of energy are without limit. Whatever life can imagine it can and will achieve. Have a nice forever."
52) "Through certain type of Indian meditations you can be made
to leave your body. The presence of the soul only is felt.
You don't even know that you have a body
and this soul goes in search of God in the infinite
people form. The Brama Kumari for example does this."
53) "Death is only a step for another dimension!"
54) "About 2 years ago I was at my friend's dorm. We were expanding our mental horizons, while listening to sitar music. I started to feel my body feel flat, kind of like deflation. Next I saw the dorms below me, then Dallas, then America, then the earth, then like a shot I 'flew' by moons, planets, complete solar systems. I then realized that there were others here as well. We seemed to communicate, but not by vocal means. Our conversations were so unearthly that I can't even say what they were talking about. I guess subjects that only exist in that dimension. Then I was in a red and black checked room. The room was about 12 square feet and there was no floor. In awe, I thought about where I was, then one of the square check tiles fell off the wall through the invisible floor. After that every thought made these squares fall down. There was a bit of time between when I was traveling in this void. The tunnels were in one row about 2 'blocks' apart. They were red and black checkered. From this viewpoint they looked like big tubes that joined this dimension with a central one. My mind seem to pick one of these tunnels to go down. While traveling down this tunnel it reminded me of an intense water slide. Far at the end of this tunnel there was this light. Then I would say that I collided with this light. From this collision I learned vast knowledge of stars, planets, the beginning, the cycle of universe and time and thought. All of this knowledge came to me all at once as if awakened in my mind. Then the fall back to earth. It was if the magical void was the real world and earth was the strange land. When I became ego-bound again it took me at least 30 minutes to remember who I was, where I was, who my friends were. Ever since this happened to me I have more love of life, more love for humanity and nature and everything. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the bright light. It is the most enlightening experience that I have ever had."
55) "I have been, like, nearly hit by several cars because of my
stupidity of not looking both ways. I also sometimes wish
I could just die, but well, it turns out that life is still
pretty good, so don't go trying to kill yourself. Even if it
sounds cool to be in heaven and all that dumb stuff!"
56) "Once when I was going swimming I went underwater and there were these other kids riding on a floating bed and they sailed over me so that I couldn't breathe. I swam around looking for a way out from under there and then when I was almost out of air I saw a way out. I swam toward the way out then I came up and took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I was so glad I didn't die. I was so happy for the rest of the day because I didn't die. That would have been horrible if I had died."
57) "When I was 12 years old (16 years ago) my appendix burst.
I was rushed to the hospital, by then I was grey in color.
Our family doctor and the emergency medical staff rushed me
into the operating room to do an exploratory surgery. As I
lay on the table a priest was ushered in to give me my last
rites. I was scared. Then they put me under to work on me,
I felt cold. It was dark, but suddenly I felt warm. I heard
a voice from somewhere talking to me. It was like I jumped
into the middle of a conversation. The voice said, "It's not
time for you yet... I have big plans for you." My mind flooded
with ideas, plans, concepts. Then the voice said, "Time to go
back.... Tell them be good to each other... Help them." Then
I felt a huge push, back down to where I was laying on the
table. I woke up on the operating table in the middle of
my surgery. The emergency staff scrambled to get me back to
sleep. I was told that the emergency staff had had to DEFIB me
back to life, but weren't expecting me to wake up.
I am now a college professor at a local university and have been
an inventor in the medical field. I hope I am helping."
58) "I was walking down my hallway getting ready to go to sleep. Inside my door I felt a presence - I wish I could say it felt good, but it didn't! I closed my door in fear and literally jumped in bed! It was like one of those (Freddy) movies the way I fell asleep, I mean I closed my eyes and poof! I was sleeping within a blink, not even realizing it and I got up. I couldn't see straight, I was so dizzy! I felt I was hearing noises in the front room and I wanted to go see if someone was trying to rob us, but I didn't want to wake my mother so I lay back down. When I got up (still in this 'dream'), my room was wrecked! I thought to myself that I'd better alert my mom. When going out the door I took a look back and gazed at a mirror with the image of my room in perfect shape! And when I turned to where the room was wrecked it was perfect as in the mirror. I awoke sweaty, hopping straight outta my bed! I had been asleep for 23 minutes, it felt like hours! I felt as though my mind had been played with, by whatever was in that hallway...."
59) "Sometimes when I'm almost asleep, but not quite, I feel like
I'm floating, then I just crash to the ground. It's as if I've hit a brick wall, but I don't feel any pain. It's a really neat feeling."
60) "Hello, I am the second oldest of 15 children. Many of my brothers
and sisters have had out-of-body experiences. They generally
happen at night during sleep. I've had at least a half a dozen
or so. They have happened less as I've gotten older. This
seems to be the case with some of my siblings also. The last time that this happened to me was when my children were young. I was the parent that got up when they needed things at night. After I saw my wife go though two deliveries, I felt that I would make raising the kids a little easier. I always slept with one ear open. Whenever I heard the slightest noise I would wake up and decide if they needed me or to go back to sleep. One night I thought that I heard my
one of my daughters crying and I got up to check on her and I stopped in the hallway. I looked in their room and saw both of them sleeping soundly. I then looked down and saw that I was
floating. I had not had an OBE in a long time, so I was excited that it had happened again. When I was younger, I was afraid to leave the bedroom when this happened. Now that I was an adult, I was waiting for it to happen. I thought immediately to float up and to go outside.
But as soon as I hit the ceiling, I returned instantly to
my body. I was awake and unable to return to that state of being. That was about 6 or 7 years ago, which is now the longest time I've gone without having a OBE, or real close to it."
61) "I don't know if this counts but I will submit it anyway. A friend of mine died about 3 weeks ago. He had been diagnosed HIV positive at an advanced stage and was not going to live all that long, as we were to discover. We tried to help him out as much as possible in terms of keeping his spirit up because he was going through a tough time. He was only 32. When he died I was in the room with him and at the point of death saw his soul/spirit, call it what you like, leave his body and float upwards. Later on I had strong messages from him saying he was OK and that he had work to do where he was and that he was comfortable and safe. I thought I would share this with you. Life and death is an illusion. I am convinced of this."
62) "I was at home when all of a sudden the roof fell in on me. The beams were old and rotten. Anyway, my skull was crushed and both my arms were broken. I was considered dead. The doctors had just finished working on me and all of the sudden I woke up. All I can remember was seeing this bright white light. My great aunt Martha was calling to me. She kept saying over and over again, "It's not your time yet, Dwain." Then the next thing I knew I was waking up on an emergency room table. The doctors later told me I was dead for a few minutes. That was the weirdest experience of my life."
63) "I was living in FL with a Lazarus-loving friend of mine and he
showed me the ways of truth and to help me believe. I found myself awake for two days straight one weekend. Finally on Sunday afternoon I fell asleep on the floor
in my bedroom with the door shut, slipped out of alignment and was
suddenly (standing, floating, hovering) in front of the fridge. I
looked at my friend and he was sittin' on the couch eating a ham
sandwich so I grabbed the fridge door to make one myself and my hand
went right through - scared the crap out of me - I shot back to my body that
was waiting in the other room, my right eye flew open but my left eye
was locked shut and all I could see with my open eye was a purple
room! I realized suddenly what was happening and I consciously told
myself to close my eye and align myself...boom it was over. I jumped up
and ran out into the living room and Charlie was eating a ham
sandwich. Note: I couldn't have smelled it 'cause I always had incense
burning in my room because his cat had a problem with his bladder and
that covered it up well!"
64) "I, along with my mother and father, was in a car accident 6 years ago and both my parents passed away. The car rolled on its top and I remember waking up and seeing my parents getting out of the car. I struggled to get out and when I did I started to run towards them. My mother turned around and said to me, "Go back, God is not ready for you. But always remember we are there for you and love you." I started to run towards them again and just when I reached them they disappeared. I went back to the car and my parents were lying in the car. Both were dead."
65) "It was Easter Sunday, and I was about 9 or 10 years old.
My family was getting ready for church, and I stood at the
top of the stairs in my house and for some reason passed
out. That was when all of a sudden I WATCHED myself fall
down the flight of stairs. It was as if I were watching
from the wall. I saw my body lying at the bottom of the
stairs and I saw myself scream. Then there was a sensation
of flying back in my body and I woke up screaming. I remember telling my parents about it. I had no idea until
a few years ago that I had experienced an Out-Of-Body
experience. Sometimes I wonder if maybe someone or
something had pulled me out of my body to save me from
dying or getting hurt. I was not injured from the fall
at all, even though I had fallen straight on my neck."
66) "I was lying in my bed at about 11pm last night, having had a really
exhausting day trying to find a new job after being sacked from my last one
a week ago. I was about to go to sleep, I was sort of on the border line
between conscious and unconscious and I had my eyes shut. I suddenly became
aware of a sort of floaty sensation, except it wasn't really like flying,
more like an airy version of floating in water on your back. I opened my
eyes in alarm, well, I think I did anyway, and saw me in my bed asleep! It
was really weird, but I felt so utterly relaxed - it was so strange. I
stayed up in the air for about 2 whole minutes, and then I suddenly found
myself back in my bed as normal. I didn't actually have control over myself
in the air, but I just felt so relaxed - it was incredible, I want everyone
to know about it! I would love it to happen again."
67) "I was in Pittsburgh and I was raped. I found out that I was
pregnant. The guy that raped me was a convicted killer and people condemned
me for carrying his child. I got murder threats and sexual phone calls from
men AND women!! I was attacked on the streets and got beat up. I went home
and decided to slice my wrists. I did and I saw a bright white light. I couldn't help but follow the light. When I reached the end I saw a figure in
the distance. I heard it say to go home. It said that my parents would die
if I didn't go back. That they would die from a broken heart. I looked down
and saw my body. I was bleeding everywhere. I ran back to the entrance and
fell into my body. I lost the baby and the guy got life in jail."
68) "In 1995 in the month of February, I believe that's when I remember this
incident occurring, I was having a very vivid dream in which I was flying.
About one year before I had been in a serious auto accident and had a severe
head injury that caused some very vivid dreams and visions.
In this particular dream I was flying. I remember being careful not to
fly into power lines. The area I was flying in reminded me of central to
northern California. At the time of this dream I lived in Salt Lake City,
Utah. In the last part of the dream I remember seeing a large electrical
power substation. Since I was vary aware I was only in a dream, I was very
curious to find out what would happen if I flew into the power lines, so I
did. I flew into the lines in the substation. Everything went white. I
woke up startled and then remembered I had only been dreaming. I was lying in
bed listening to my radio that morning when I heard a report on the news
about a large power blackout in northern California that had occurred in the
last 45 minutes (the same time as I was having my dream). They believe the
phenomena that caused it was at a substation in Fresno. Weird, huh!"
69) "I was watching tv up in my room with my friends and it was about 11:30pm.We heard a banging noise in the living room down stairs. My friends and I
thought it was my big brother pounding on the walls trying to scare us, so
we went down to the living room to find a ghost. It was just standing
there staring at us with these big red eyes. It started moving toward us
saying something in a low voice. We all huddled together as the ghost
moved closer. It was finally in arm's reach and grabbed one of my friends,
and since we were huddled together we all vanished with the ghost. We were
transported down a long narrow hallway into a small black room. We could
not escape from this room. We were trapped in this small black room, cold
and hungry, when the same ghost we saw earlier came into view. Again we
huddled together and again the ghost came closer. We were again
transported down the same long narrow hallway and at the end of the hallway was
my room. We looked at the clock: it read 11:30pm. My mom heard us yelling
in my room and she came running to my room asking us, "Where in the hell have
you been ?!" You see it was 11:30 pm, but two days later. We still have
no idea where we all went, but ever since that night we have not seen the
ghost that took us to the small black room."
70) "I have dreams that happen all the time. They, in
themselves, are not really significant. I will dream about an
ordinary day, all its events and conversations, and a day to a
month later, those days will happen. The strange thing is
that they ALWAYS foreshadow an important event in my life.
Also, they usually give a clue to that event, and sometimes,
I have been able to predict what would happen. Also, I
have actually seen angels and have spoken with demons. I am not
a satanist or any kind of witch, just an everyday guy."
71) "In Dec.of 1996 I tried to commit suicide. My husband found
me and took me to the hospital. The last thing I remember
is lying on the bed to go to "sleep." The next thing I
remember is being AWARE of being in total darkness, alone.
I was not afraid, but I was not there very long. I heard
the nurse (I suppose she was the nurse) call my name, Barbara.
I believe if some otherworldly entity called me it would
call me by Bobbie Jo, my nick name. I have heard people
speak of a light, has anyone else experienced being AWARE
of only darkness? When I finally got the courage to tell
my daughter, she told me of a friend of hers who had the same
experience. That is the only other one I have heard of."
72) "I was 9 years old. I was very ill having pneumonia, asthma and I was dehydrated. I was taken to the doctors and then rushed to the hospital, where this experience occurred. Before that time I was a very depressed
child, believing that the world would end soon with a nuclear explosion.
(After my stay in the hospital, I no longer felt that way.) But, back to
the hospital. I was in and out of consciousness, and felt awful. I didn't
care about anything since I was so sick. One night, I remember, I seemed to be
sitting on the light over my bed near the ceiling. I could see my body and
my father staring out into the dark Denver sky. I felt really at peace and
have never achieved that peace since. I wasn't scared or happy, just
at total peace. I saw my father walk across the room, but he didn't concern me. I seemed to be moving up slightly then. My stay at the hospital continued until a few weeks later I was released. I never told anyone about this for
quite a few years until one day my family was discussing how I seemed so calm and
relaxed and
basically could look straight into the heart of any situation and present, if
not a solution, an understanding. I told my family about the time I was in the hospital.
I was describing what had happened and my father's eyes went slightly wide. He said that one
night while he was
with me (this was relevant since my parents were separated and took different
shifts so the
tension wouldn't be so great) I was in bed and he'd been by the window. He
had been wearing
exactly what I described and had walked over to check on me only to find
that I'd stopped breathing.
He then ran to the nurses' station, demanded they get someone in there to
help me. Evidently, the
staff wasn't so hot there. Anyway, he got a respiration tech (or something
to that effect) and I started
breathing again. I don't remember seeing any of that, but then I was so at
peace I really didn't care
what was happening around me. I was content to just sit, seemingly on my
light, and look into the night and FEEL
that peace........When someone asks me what the most important moment of my life was...I
always say when I died. It's changed me
in a way only someone who's experienced it can know. As for the question of
life after death, it's not the unknown to me.......it's fact, and of that I will be eternally grateful!"
73) "I feel that if I really try I can move my soul by shutting my eyes
and thinking really hard of my soul leaving my body and floating freely
among us and afterwards I feel exhausted or relaxed, I can't really tell.
Also, I have a heck of a lot of deja vu."
74) "I had a dream once that I had died. The cause of my death
was I tried to save my friend's life from someone, but instead
of stabbing them I stabbed myself. I went to school the
next day as if nothing had happened, but everyone kept
saying it smells like rotting flesh in here. I started walking down a long
hall with my friend, Amanda, and her mom. Her mom kept telling me Amanda was
already dead. When we reached the end of the hall there was a door to the
left. We walked in and to the right there I lay in a coffin. I saw
people crying. Then I woke up and I was sleeping like the way they put you
in a coffin."
75) "I am a hemophiliac. When I was about five years of age
I was quite seriously cut underneath the upper lip when I
was running, tripped, and fell into a coffee table. Nobody
at the time knew that I was a hemophiliac, so when I was
brought to the emergency room, the doctor didn't hospitalize
me, he merely prescribed some liquid that was to be rubbed
on the cut that was supposed to stop the bleeding. After two
weeks it still hadn't stopped bleeding, in fact, it was bleeding
harder than ever, every time it would clot up, the clot would
come loose and I would swallow it, so, finally, after I started
to complain of feeling very light-headed and weak, my parents
brought me back to the emergency room, where I sat in a chair
while my mother was doing the paper work. Nobody was
really panicking at this time. And then, I lost consciousness.
All I saw was blackness and had a feeling of being pulled some
where. Then I saw a swirling mass of gray clouds, and I could
hear something breathing my name, and at the same time I
felt as if something were beckoning to me, and then I remember
being pulled backwards, and being conscious again. It turns out
that I had lost more blood than anyone had thought, my heart had
actually stopped beating for a number of minutes."
76) "I was raped and mugged one night and left for dead. I was
taken to hospital by these little people in silver suits. I
don't want to sound like a fruit cake, but somehow I really
trusted them. When I had recovered, I asked the doctors who
the people were who brought me here. They said that I was
found at the emergency door of the hospital. They didn't
know how I got there, because I was in such a state I
couldn't walk. WEIRD!"
77) "This is a true story. In 1992, Dallas, Texas, I was hospitalized with mono and hepatitis. It was the 4th day of lying there in a bed moaning with a very high fever of 104.5. I wasn't sure what I had been diagnosed with yet because this was before the doctors knew. It took them 4 days to finally find out what was wrong with me! They suspected spinal meningitis which can be fatal. Knowing this, I panicked and prayed to my grandfather who had passed on when I was twelve. I wanted him to be there for me if I passed on. The drapes were drawn and it was about 4:00pm. on a bright sunny day. All of a sudden, this woman was sitting next to me, but she was transparent. She had a yellowish glow all around her. She said nothing to me, but I knew I was going to be all right. I felt a peace come over me, a sensation of knowing that I was going to be fine. Then I turned away for one moment to move myself over to sit up and she was gone. 10 minutes later my mother came in and I told her what had happened. Later that day we found out my diagnosis. I will never forget that peaceful feeling; it was wonderful. I do believe we have Guardian Angels, and more than that, God is within us always."
78) "The body is simply a physical vehicle for the Spirit,
the same way that a car is for the body. You can leave it
at will. While you are incarnate (living a life), your
body acts as a "home page" that you can get get back to
easily at any time. You can also send out sensory
travelling parts, visual, auditory, tactile, or all three
much more easily than sending out your entire Spirit.
While in the Spirit World, you and everything around you
feels just as physical as when you are in your body in
the Physical World except that you are working with
Metaphysical Laws instead of Physical Laws so that your
surroundings' form and function are malleable and subject
to your will or the will of the most powerful spirit in
the vicinity. Prior Life memories are easy to access
because your spirit never forgets any of it's prior
lessons/lives. I have been doing this all of this life
and can remember bits and pieces of thousands of lives,
large chunks of approximately 100 lives, and about 10
complete lives. That is why the WEB is so interesting.
It is an entirely new experience, with no data in prior
life memories even similar. It's not boring! I am
constantly seeking out new experiences that are not in
memory. Meditation helps to get free of your body and to
access prior life memories. I have been doing it for
23 years. If you think that the WEB is fun, try the
Spirit World out some time."
79) "For a short time I lived at Job Corps. This is where I had
the most frightening of my several near-death/out-of-body
experiences. I was sitting in the front of the recreation
center smoking a cigarette, when my current love crush
came to me and asked if I would like to smoke a marijuana
blunt with him. I took him up on his offer. So Tre, his Orientation Training brother, Will,
and I headed to the back of the building to smoke the blunt.
They did not tell me that this particular blunt was laced
with cocaine. I would not have smoked with them and they
knew this. Well, we got finished smoking and started
walking towards the back parking lot. Tre asked me if I
wanted Visine for my red eyes; I said no. Not two seconds
later, when he turned to ask me why not, I fell out
(passed out). I could hear everything that was going on
around me, but for a few seconds I couldn't see. When they
did finally raise me into a standing position, not only did I
get to open my eyes, but I also was confronted with a
booming voice that didn't seem to come from my head, but
from the sky. The voice said to me, " I know your body feels
numb and you can't stop staring at your friend because
your eyes are popping out your head. But that's that coke
working on you. I told you in a dream the other night that
you can only smoke what they burned on the grave of
Solomon. You defied me. It wasn't all your fault though.
For now I will not take you with me, but only under certain
circumstances. I will not take you if you don't purposefully
touch the coke again. This is your choice. If you make the
wrong choice, I will slowly and sufferingly take your life. I will take everything that you worked for and make your
life a true living hell. If you pick the right choice, I will
make sure that you reach the main goals you strive for
in your life with success and be abundant in wealth,
happiness, and love, to your personal measure. Would god be so vengeful?
Would the devil be so fulfilling of one's needs? Who was talking to me????"
80) "I think I've got psychic abilities. I'm only 11 years old, but I have
weird dreams about my friends and playing tag or something an' then I'll be
playing with my friends and realize that I've done that before."
81) "A few years ago (I'm 16 now, so I guess I was about 13 or 14) I was
sleeping peacefully in my bed. Suddenly I woke up with this very
uncomfortable feeling like I just wanted to cry for some reason unknown to
me. So, I walked across the hall to my parents' bedroom. I can't remember
whether or not their bedroom door was open already, but I found myself
standing in their doorway. As I looked around the room, it looked as
though everything was ransacked and both of my parents were lying in their
bed, dead. It wouldn't have scared me so badly, but they were really
bloody and I could see a large, dark form in the corner of the room. I
realized that I couldn't talk, and after I blinked once, my mom woke up and
the room was fine. She looked up at me and asked, "Tiffany, what's wrong?"
I had tears rolling down my face and I felt very choked. I just turned
around very quietly and went back to my room. I sat down on the bed and
bawled my eyes out. My mom came in and rocked me back to sleep. It wasn't
until the next afternoon that I told them what had happened. I still don't
know what the heck was wrong with me, but every time I retell the story,
every little detail and emotion comes back to me. I try to tell as many
people as I can, because it makes me feel better...sort of. My whole
family on my Dad's side has had weird experiences with ghosts and
out-of-body experiences. I don't know what mine was, exactly, but I've had
a few more and have at least 2 deja vous per week!!"
82) "I was staying in a hotel some time ago. While in my room resting
I had the urge to go to the bathroom. So naturally I got up
from my bed and headed toward the bathroom to relieve myself.
Halfway to the bathroom this itch of a curiosity was nagging
me to turn around and look back at my bed. When I did I saw
myself, actually it seemed my physical body still lying
on the bed. So, as soon as I became aware of my reality I
was drawn back like a sling shot back to my physical body lying
on the bed. I then woke up."
83) "I found myself lying in the living room of the home of my birth in
Massapequa, N.Y. Everything felt so real and it was in color. I went to the
refrigerator and drank some coke. I heard the voices of some Japanese men
outside (members of the U.C.). I felt that at this time I should really be
in Beijing, China with my wife and my daughter, but being that I was here in Long Island I
decided to walk around the house a bit while I was there. However, I sensed there was one of the Japanese men coming into the house. I knew that the only way to leave was by going to sleep again and
then I would find myself back in Beijing. I went into the room that was my parents'
bedroom. I laid down on the bed and tried to fall asleep. One of the
Japanese men came in and saw me. He was surprised and ran out to tell the others. I
quickly went underneath the bed and tried to sleep there. The man came in
with the others and with surprise he found I was gone. While I was under the
bed my body rubbed up against the bedsprings. The bed springs were very sensitive so
at my slightest move they moved back and forth. Then the man who saw me
looked at the bed as it was jerking back and forth and said, "See, its moving; he must still be here." One of the others that came in then said, "No, see this is a vibrating bed" and at that he jumped onto the bed
laying flat on his back while I was still there (I didn't get hurt). Then I
fell asleep underneath the bed and woke up. A split second before I woke up I was
wondering whether or not I had made it back to Beijing. I woke up and
verified where I was and felt relieved. I also felt an odd tingling sensation about
me. I wondered what had happened. Did I actually go there within the physical
realm? I felt that my spirit did in fact leave my body much more than it usually
does when I sleep. It was as if I had an extended and extracurricular leave of my
body and journey of my spirit because of what I felt as a sensation when I woke
up. I wonder since I have been trying to understand how I could understand
myself better; is journeying back to my home, in my mind going to be
helpful in stimulating my memory of what happened while I was growing up? Is my home
some kind of vortex for me, a psychological portal for me to access more
effectively my past memories?"
84) "I got really really angry with a "friend" of mine who still acts ever
so pleasant to my face, but really loathes me. Anyway, I'd skipped year
eight (year 7 to 9) and I'm now in year 10 in a small country town in
Australia. The high school is small and of course everyone knows everyone
else. About June of this year, I'd become very stressed at school with
constant teasing and worse. There was a lot of stuff leading up to
it....very stressful finding out a "friend" had lead you on for nearly two
years pretending to like you. One day I attacked her in the classroom. It
was a big shock to everyone because I am a very quiet and friendly person,
gentle and quiet, having never done anything remotely like this before. I'd
gotten up that morning with a strange sense of purpose, as if it had to be
done. Maybe I'm sorry for doing it now...I don't know. She didn't sustain
any injuries or anything serious but it was quite shocking for everyone.
Anyway, when I actually did it I had this sensation that what I was doing
wasn't really me. As if I'd been pushed into the background, and my body
was on automatic pilot, not an out of body experience exactly, but
probably almost that. As if I was watching from somewhere else. Afterwards
people said my eyes changed color and I remember pushing aside someone in
her chair to get at this person, quite gently I remember, but she had
bruises all along her back where I'd pushed her. It was frightening to
think there was something in me that could do that to a person."
85) "My friend gave me a drug called Ketamine, which in high doses is an
anaesthetic, but in lower doses temporarily shuts down signals from peripheral sensory
receptors to the brain. I had the distinct impression that I had died for two hours, but I remember
much of it. The world seemed to collapse down; three dimensions became two and then
one, and I felt myself traveling along this one dimension as if following a wire. My life
seemed as if it had been a play, with me as an actor in it, and I was stepping off behind
the stage. I didn't see it "flash before my eyes," but I did feel as though I was viewing the whole
of it as a detached spectacle. As the drug was wearing off, I experienced temporary confusion about which
life I should come back to and briefly considered returning as someone else.
Afterward, I felt a great peace, feeling that I knew what it was like to
die, and that it wouldn't be so bad when the real time came. I've never felt any need to try that
drug again."
86) "OK. Well, here it is. I used to be Catholic and believed that when
you died you went right to Heaven. I now know that the Bible says you
sleep and everyone goes at the same time on the final judgement day. So my
grandfather isn't up there with Abraham Lincoln at a John Lennon concert.
And I died in an ambulance on October 15, 1975 and was brought back with
electric paddles and I saw nothing. No bright lights, no one beckoning me
to come or go back. Nothing. It was as though I was asleep -- which makes
sense if we all go up together in the end. But . . . when I was five
months old I had a severe kidney infection and was hemhorraging
internally. The doctors did all they could, but they were sure I would be
dead by morning. My parents were only 24 years old at the time and were
understandably grief stricken. My mother's Aunt Mary called my grandmother
and told her to tell my mother I would be fine. She would pray to the
"Blessed Mother" and I would pull through. Sister Mary Gemma at the
hospital also told my mother it wasn't my time. I had much to do. At five
months old -- I had no clue. But the next morning the doctors checked in
on me expecting the worst. I was fine. Bleeding stopped, fever gone,
infection reversed and my color was back in my cheeks. That morning they
found my Aunt Mary dead from a brain aneurism. Did she make a deal with
God? I don't know. But I'm now 40 years old, a software QC Engineer, and
father of a 4 year old daughter. I move into my first home this week. And
I hope to have the chance to thank Aunt Mary someday."
87) "My aunt and her husband had been having some pretty hard times doing
their marriage. He wasn't a very nice companion to want to spend
the rest of your life with. There was always the chance of them getting a
divorce, but who knew!! During a horrible miscarriage of her fourth
child (she went into what the doctors said was pre-delivery) she fell to the ground but was scorned by her demonic husband for her stupidity of bleeding on the carpet that was just cleaned. Through all the pain
one late night she sat rocking in the rocking chair crying and asking, God
what kind of husband do I have (reminiscing on previous occasions of abuse)...
please, Lord, reveal to me what kind of man is he!! Me and my cousins had
always jokingly said he had demons in him, but never did we expect what
there was to come. Finishing her prayer, watching her husband sleep, there
out of his body rose an ugly demon that turned around, looked at her, grinned, and went back inside of the
vessel it was living in with pleasure. My auntie just cried, for she knew
she had to get away from him..........There is a spiritual war going
on!!"
88) "Things aren't always what they seem....One day you could be walking
down the street, admiring the view of whatever interests you, and suddenly,
you become that object, or in my case, that person that you are gazing at.
Time lost all definition; I was wrapped up in what can only be described
as disgust. Why this happened to me I don't know. Lights flashed in my
eyes and, as if I was high, colors had sounds and shapes. Everything was a
mix of every feeling I've ever had in my life and there was no limit to the
pain that came over me. What was that whole episode??? I lasted in this
for nearly 15 minutes and when I came around I found myself pressed up
against a wall with tears rolling down my cheeks. I can't recall if I was
afraid, but I am sure that from now on I will have more respect of others
and an assurance that things that we know nothing of still really do exist."
89) "Instead of having my own out of body experience, I come from a
different side of the life/death experiences. I have dreams...death
dreams, and the friends, relatives I have dreamed about, die. One dream in
particular was of a friend in the summer of 1994. I do not know what
would cause his death, but I awoke from my sleep, uneasy, and while I was
getting dressed for work, I told my wife that our friend would die. I
could remember nothing of the dream except that his death was sure.
Several months went by and on Sept. 18, 1994, I was involved in a two
vehicle head-on wreck. Luckily, I survived, but while I was recovering at
home on the morning of Oct. 1, 1994, I received a phone call that our
friend had been killed in an oil field accident. I wondered since then if
I could have done anything/something to prevent his death. Other death
dreams that I have had are the deaths of my Mother, Father, Grandmother,
and another close friend. These deaths usually happen within 6 months of a
dream. My family thinks that I have some kind of precognition."
90) "One night when I was asleep, I was awakened by my body struggling,
struggling to breathe. When I came to my senses I smelled a horrible smell
that I cannot really describe. I do recall sitting bolt upright. I looked
around and there was no one in my room with me. That odor lingered in my
nostrils for quite some time. I am not sure if that qualifies as phenomena,
but it was and still is an unexplained incident that happened and every person
I have shared it with can't identify it. It could have been my soul awakening to
the fact that there are other things unseen trying to extinguish my life force.
It still is a mystery to me."
91) "This was really weird. I was asleep, then all of a sudden,
I wasn't in my body anymore, and I know it wasn't a dream.
I was out camping with some people I didn't recognize, but
I seemed to know their names. Suddenly, we found one of
our group members dead in the brush -- bludgeoned to death!!
It was so gory, and I could hear, smell, and feel
everything. And so police came, police left, and we went
to our site again. The bushes moved then. There was only
me and a girl named Stephanie. Suddenly, some psycho
jumped out of the bushes and started clubbing Stephanie
with a baseball bat. I ran and hid, but I couldn't do
anything for her. I felt a jolt and I was back in my own
body. It had to have been the scariest moment of my life."
92) "A cold December evening. 1978 was the year & 4 was the age. My father
and I were together watching TV in the living room. More accurately, we
were watching The Incredible Hulk. It was a typical episode where Dr.
David Banner was becoming upset about
something and when the chemical imbalance initiated the mutating effect,
the thunderstorm that was currently
bombarding our town sent a highly dense static pulse, lightning, hurtling
towards my home. At the final stage of Banner's metamorphosis, you know,
when he goes. "..rRAAAAAAaaagghhh!!!!"
and lightning starts crashing around him, Mother Nature decides to join in
the fun. Kra-BOOOOOM is the only way I can describe God's cannon letting
loose in my living room.
Immediate darkness followed. I thought I was dead. A four second audio
survey told me that I was fine, no, the world had not been blown to bits by
the Hulk, and yes, I was screaming pretty loud.
I knew dead people didn't make noise, so hearing myself only further
encouraged the yowling.
My father calmed me down & we proceeded to tour the house, mainly to
inspect for fire damage. As we made our way to MY room, my curiosity
peaked. The air felt different - alive almost. We entered my room & discovered
why it felt strange - there was a 6 foot tall, 5 foot wide, gaping hole in my wall
where the lightning decided that it had better be going.
The section that wall HAD contained now rested on my bed, completely
crushing it, frame and all. Needless to say, I have been a huge fan of the
Hulk."
93) "My 14 year old son died in July of last summer. I was at McDonald's
eating a Happy Meal and was very ill. I said that I wished I had not eaten.
Then I got to the ball park for this tournament and a policeman came up
with a note saying my son was in critical condition. He'd been on his
bicycle, which he rarely ever rode, but a friend came by and asked him to go
with him to take a movie home and he ended up in front of a fully loaded
Mack sand truck. The truck dragged him under and ran over him. The truck kept
him under for 83ft and didn't stop for 350 ft. My biggest concern is did he
feel the pain or had he already left his body? He died 2hrs later. Was he
worried that we would be mad or that he'd hurt us? Are you sad when you
notice you're not with your family any more? We were such a strong family
foursome; we did our last group hugs in the hospital. Of course he was
already dead by the time I got to the hospital. When I got to the hospital
I somehow remembered all the stories about the light, so my 16 year old
daughter and I told him to go to the light and that we loved him. When my
husband came at 8pm that evening we told him again about the
light. Do you think he heard us? We allowed him to be a donor and
cremated. I hope that was all right. I only want him to be happy. I can't figure
out where were his angels were that day. Do you think he
got the choice of coming back as a possible invalid or to live eternal
life? I've read all of your stories. They are beautiful and I'm glad that you
are with us."
94) "When I was 8 years old I was terrified of death. One night I
dreamed that an angel came to me and told me that I should
never be afraid of death because I would be able to choose
the time of my own death. That I would know moments before
it happened and I would be able to accept it or reject it.
That "opportunity" hasn't come up yet, but ever since that
dream, I've never been afraid of dying."
95) "I personally have had multiple experiences. One occurred
when I was hemorrhaging and in critical condition following
childbirth. I found myself near the ceiling of the bedroom
looking down at my own body. This separation came and went
during the ride to hospital and through transfusions. I
have never experienced that specific occurrence again.
The second type is that dear friends come to me during the
night as in a dream, but not really a dream, to say goodbye.
I would find out days later that they were dead. In all
cases very near the exact time I perceived them. (It always
awakened me.) I had no prior knowledge that they were ill,
let alone dead."
96) "My Mother's Story: While in an ambulance on the way to a hospital my mother
described the tunnel with light at the end exactly
as many other people do now. Thirty years ago no one spoke
about it. Also she remembered being surprised that she
wasn't allowed to continue toward that light as she
very much wanted to go and could see deceased relatives
in the distance."
97) "3 years ago I suffered 2 heart attacks. While I was being treated in
the emergency room I died, the paddles were used on me. I remember watching
this from above the room, however there was no tunnel with a light at the end of it,
only the warmest and safest feeling imaginable within me. There are no
words that I know of that can come close to explaining the feeling I had. It
was as if finally I was home and nothing could ever hurt me again. I do remember
being told no it was not time and that I had to go back. I did not even want to return
to my body. This happened to me twice that night and try as I may the wondrous feeling
of well being will not come to me again. However, since that occurrence I now
no longer fear the cessation of life here as we know it and people are more than amazed
at my change of attitude toward all earthly evils. I fear very little now thanks to my experience
with the unknown. I envy those that go before me for I know of the peace and love they now have.
I know that there is a reason I have to stay here and one day that reason will be obvious."
98) "My out of body experience happened about a year ago. I got into a
major car accident and I wasn't wearing a seat belt. I was rushed to North Arundel
Hospital, where they took me into surgery immediately. My heart stopped
beating for 1 min. and they tried to bring me back, but it didn't work. I
drifted off into a place that I never want to go back to again: I was small
Jewish boy about the age of 8 and I was being chased by Nazi soldiers. I
didn't want them to catch me so I ran into an alley and I hid in a sewer
pipe. Unfortunately the Nazi soldiers saw where I went and captured me and
executed me on the spot. Two mins. later I saw a bright light and it
turned out to be the light in the hospital room."
99) "I was only 15 months old and I had a very serious illness. I had
floated away for 9 minutes and I came back. In this, I was dead. Around this
time I could see things not yet to happen. I had seen many things yet to
begin. But nevertheless they told me I had died for around 7-10 minutes
and somehow came back. Often I have dreamt of this
going on over and over like a broken record. Things piled on to this
accidental death that they call "a stroke of luck" so that I became living
once again. Meanwhile I still have dreams of the future and past. And
sometimes I dream of past lives as if I am living them now."
100) "I had my first experience with ghosts when I was about nine years
old. I am constantly dealing with ghosts on a daily basis, like it or not
now. The thing I find by doing this is that people are for the
most part afraid to say anything to anyone, even their closest friends.
If people knew how easy it is to talk to the other side everyone could and
would be doing this. By this I don't mean charging a lot of money for
something that was meant to be done for free. Sometimes taking money in
certain situations has to be done to cover expenses. These people getting rich
off their gift, so to speak, is not right and will not last long!"
101) "One night while sleeping I feel I had a NDE. What I experienced was
more than just a dream. I visioned my spirit going through like a level of
darkness. At the end of the darkness I saw a lot of greenery including
green pastures and trees. A small brook or stream flowed through this
pasture and some being (it seemed like) was walking by my side leading me
across it. I could not see this being but I could feel its presence.
After crossing the stream some people dressed all in white came sort of
running towards me. They appeared to move so easily. Everyone had smiles
on their faces and were glad to see me. They let me know without really
telling me that they would be seeing me sometime later and that this was
not my time to be there. I then woke up. It was not a dream. This was
the most unusual thing I have ever experienced in my life and I just know
that I wasn't dreaming."
102) "I have not had any practical OOB or near-death experiences; however a
strange occurrence that happened 15 years ago has confirmed my belief in
life after death. On a December day I returned home from college to find my grand-aunt
dead in her wheelchair. She had left the front entry door open (as was her
habit to do) and I looked through the storm door window and saw her in her
wheelchair: I instantly knew that she had passed. The next day, I, my
sister and my grand-uncle left the house to make arrangements at a funeral
home. When we returned the front entry door was open! Of course I figured
that the last person out (my grand-uncle) had forgotten to close the door
behind him, though he denied leaving it open. The following week, my grand-uncle was
away from home, and my sister and
I were upstairs watching TV when suddenly we heard a loud BANG come from
downstairs...we quickly ran down to find out what caused such a disturbing
sound, and what we saw horrified both of us: the front entry door was
standing open but with the chainlock still attached and the storm door
locked! Apparently, the door was opened with some force and hit against
the chain on the chainlock: this is what caused the banging sound. It became obvious to both
me and my sister that our grand-aunt was still
in the house and that she was opening the front door out of habit! These
two instances never occurred before nor since and I've lived in this house
for 32 years. There were other strange occurrences within the weeks
following her death, but the opening door will alway be fresh in my mind."
103) "About 3 months ago I was pretty drunk with my friend. For some reason I
decided to run across the road. A car hit me at about 60mph head on. I
remember flying into the air and landing behind the car. I then jumped up
and ran off leaving the driver very confused. My friend met me later and
told me he'd seen a faint image of me lying on the road and saw the real me
running off. My jeans were ripped to shreds but I didn't have a scratch."
104) "I am a Christian, so obviously this story will
come from a Christian perspective. I am a recovering alcoholic. But in
1989 I was drinking heavily. I was out drinking with a friend and
stupidly tried to drive home while I was too drunk. I had an accident. I
hit the rear of a tow truck. My car exploded on impact and I was luckily
thrown through the windshield. I never actually quit breathing nor did my
heart stop. In the ambulance I looked at my hands and they were so, so
bloody. At that time I knew I was going to die. I didn't think about my
loved ones. I was not at all frightened. I felt absolutely no pain even
though my face was crushed and my skull was fractured and I had been
scalped. I was very ready to die. Ever since then, I don't fear death. It is a peaceful thing, I believe.
When you think you're going to die, and no pun intended, there is a certain
fatalistic feeling. And when you know there is nothing for you to do
about it, it's very peaceful, oddly enough. Thanks for letting me share my
story."
105) "When I was about 5 years old, I was down in the basement
of my parents house. I was playing as most 5 year olds do
when I remembered an incident from a few weeks prior where
my visual point of perception shifted to one "outside" of my
body. I can't say for sure if I actually was "outside" of
my body but I can say that I did want to experience it again.
I remember being very curious as to if I could do it again
intentionally. So I got up and stood in the corner of the
room facing out onto the floor. I decided that I wanted to
"shift my visual perception" to the opposite corner so that
I was facing myself. I had no idea how to make it happen so
got to thinking that maybe I had to force it out. I crouched
down assuming that it would help me to focus my will to force
my perception to shift. I stood like that for about a minute
and started feeling faint. The last thing I saw was the floor
coming up at my face. It didn't feel like I was falling, but
I tried to catch myself. When I stood up I actually was standing
in the corner on the opposite side of the room looking back
at myself. I was kind of in shock for a while, afraid to move.
I thought if I did, I would loose my focus and be forced back.
I thought it would be like releasing a rubber band that was
stretched too far, that I would go flying back across the room
slamming into myself and getting a really big headache. Being
5, I didn't like headaches. To me they always felt like my
head was going to rupture spilling my brains all over the floor,
but after the initial shock wore off I did try to move.
I managed to look down at my hands and feet. Then I tried
to walk over to myself to get a closer look. From where I
thought I was, it looked like the me I started from was frozen
in time. The blank look on my face and the open eyes really
freaked me out. Everything faded out after a few seconds of
staring at myself staring blankly back at me. When the "lights
came back on" I was myself again standing in the initial crouched
stance trying to understand what was happening. I realized
I had succeeded in intentionally shifting not only my visual
perception but all of my sensory perceptions (no, there weren't
any extra sensory perceptions) were in working order while I
was across the room. I got overjoyed at my experience and
went to tell my father about it. I didn't know then but he
was in another room of the basement getting stoned with some
friends of his and when I told him about it he just looked at
me like I was crazy and said, "Yeah, that's nice, did you tell
your mother, why don't you go find her for me." And as I was
walking up the stairs to go find my mother I heard my father
telling his friends what a weird little shit I was, always
saying weird shit like that. I got so pissed off at him that
I left the house without telling any one where I was going
and hid for a few hours until I was sufficiently cooled off
enough to look at my father without trying to kill him. But
that was my experience. I have experienced these shifts a
few times since then but I lost interest in forcing it for a
long time. Now I only wish I could do it again, but every time
I try I end up a complete failure. I hope you enjoyed reading
this and thanks for the opportunity to tell about it."
106) "When I was about eleven years old I was taken to the hospital for a
routine tonsilectomy. As far as I was concerned I had nothing to worry about
and I wasn't expecting any problems. This is what happened....I was near
death and never knew it. I can remember a nurse putting a mask over my face and telling me it was
ether. She said to take deep breaths and count backward from 10. The next
thing I remember I was in a large swirling whirlpool like things and there
was a loud buzzing. The buzzing sounded kind of like brrrrrr brrrrr brrrr,
over and over. It was as if I was not within myself but a spectator and I
was watching my body being pulled deeper and deeper into this swirling
void. I can remember asking myself over and over, "Why does this have to
happen to me?" The next thing I knew I could see a kind of light at one side of this
whirling void and in it was the face of one of my dead aunts. My aunt told
me to go back and the next thing I knew I awoke in my room and the surgery
was over. It wasn't until 30 years later that I read in a book about near death
experiences and realized that was what I had. I must have nearly died on
the table and was sent back by my dead aunt. I knew after reading of
similar experiences that it could not be made up. It was just too close to
what had happened to the others in the book to be unreal."
107) "Two years ago I had what most people would just describe as
a simple and straightforward UFO abduction experience but
what I sincerely believe was a Near-Death out-of-body
experience. I was walking back one night from a party in a
village near Loch Ness in Scotland (where I was born
incidentally), a region notorious for strange goings on as
most people will know. I was going down this very quiet
country lane when I saw something moving on the surface of
the water near to the shore of the Loch, about 200 yards
away. I ran down towards the water, with visions of seeing
Nessie running through my head, when suddenly I was stunned
as an intense beam of white multi-coloured light hit me in
the face. A whirling chrome coloured disc appeared above me
and I think at that point I must have blacked out. The next
thing I knew I was floating inside a pulsating, pink
coloured room, very much like a womb. Three strange beings
were floating beside me, they had luminous tentacles and
large white eyes, but made strange gestures towards me which
seemed to be greetings of some sort, and they sung in high,
ethereal voices. I felt very happy, but I looked down
through a glass dome which was in the floor of the room and
saw my body lying on the road, with blood coming out of my
head. I screamed at this point and found myself back in my
body lying on the road, with the spaceship gone and the Loch
quiet again. People have told me I must have eaten some
funny mushrooms or taken LSD but I know what I saw and felt."
108) "I have found out that I have lived this same exact life about 136
times (give or take a few). I keep having flashes when I realize what
happened in one of my previous lives and if I act fast enough I can change
the event."
109) "Once when I was five I stuck a stick in my mouth and started choking.
I saw a flash of red and blue and figures dancing about and then all of them
turned towards me and said, "Go, it is not your time yet" and then I came
back with another flash of red and blue and I am in the garden seconds
before I put the stick in my mouth, but I stop myself and remember what they
said."
110) "This took place at my grandparents' house in May 1998. I was
visiting for the weekend. That Saturday night I had a dream that my
boyfriend and my best friend slept with each other. The dream was like no
other. I saw everything that went on that night at my best friend's house and
when the dream was over I woke up and I couldn't move or I would have wrote
it down, but I glanced at the time and it was a little after 2am and when I
went to sleep it was about 12:30am. I have never had a dream like that in
my whole life. Then I got back home and on Monday I told them both about my
dream. They acted like, "oh what a weird dream", but then I found out that
everything that I saw in my dream actually did happen that night a little after I
went to sleep. It ended at the same time I woke up, my boyfriend and best friend said.
This wasn't a fun experience for me."
111) "Throughout the years I have experienced several outer body
experiences. These usually happen sporadically and unexpectedly, mainly
while sleeping. At first there is this high pitched humming sound ringing
in my ears as my whole body starts to tingle (very similar to the feeling I
get when my legs "fall asleep".) Soon thereafter my body becomes extremely
heavy and numb as I feel a detachment from my body and then I rise up above
the bed in a slow motion spinning fashion. By then I am able to see
myself sleeping on the bed. A few times I have seen my body full of cuts
but usually when this happens there has been a distinctive foul smell
accompanying the experience. The first few times I felt this outer body
experience I would feel extreme fear and anguish, however as I have become
more familiar with the feeling, I have been able to go with it, even
control it and walk around the room. However whenever I walk too far I do
get an uneasy feeling. The most vivid memory I have was when my father passed
away and after the funeral my mother, sister, and I went back home and went all
to sleep in the same room. They took the bed and I took the couch. As I drifted off
I started going through the usual sensation of numbness and heaviness along with the high
pitch sound. My body anchors down heavily onto the bed and I exit....except that time the
phone was ringing off the hook. I clearly remember walking towards it as I saw my mother
and sister and myself sound asleep. I picked up the phone and through the loud static it
produced I could hear my father´s voice trying to tell me something I could
not understand. It all sounded like a crackling radio voice. I hung up
and went back in after a while. It has been a while since I have felt the
body detachment. It seems like the older I get the further apart these
incidents happen."
112) "I was in a plane crash and "died" of shock on the way down. Suspended and floating
upwards, I saw my plane crash and my body flying out of the wreckage. Suddenly, my best
friend started floating up as I floated down. I called her name and she smiled at me.
I never saw her again. It is strange that no one else has seen somebody else floating
beside them."
113) "I remember my last life. It's hard to remember clearly, but it's slowly
getting better. All I can remember are vivid moments in my last hour. I was MURDERED.
I believe it was a quick death 'cause I don't remember any pain. I also believe it was
a while ago (centuries before my birth this lifetime) because the murder weapon was only
a knife instead of a gun or poisons. I can't recall the blade's handle, but the razor-sharp
edge is quite clear. He chased me through white-washed hallways. I found myself cornered in
a medium/large room. I can't help thinking, "what if I had a few more minutes, would I have
been rescued?" or more perplexing, "WHY DID HE KILL ME?"
114) "I was listening to a tape called higher self exploration. It was like
a self hypnosis tape. I soon found myself further away than I felt
comfortable with. I could no longer feel my physical form. It was pretty
uncomfortable for me, since I wasn't expecting it to happen. I saw many
colors and received answers to a few things I needed to know. I got scared
and came right back to my physical body. It's been four years since this
happened and I haven't tried the tape again. Some day when I'm ready I
will. It's not as fun to be away from the comfort of your soul's temporary
home as one might think!"
115) "I am a born-again Christian (born-again not meaning
"re-incarnated") and have had a type of near-death experience.
When I was a little girl (I don't recall what age) one night as I was
laying in my bed, I thought to myself that I would really like to know what
Heaven was like. I decided that I would pray to God very hard and maybe He
would show me. I prayed very hard for quite some time, until gradually there came a
buzzing sound in my ears. The sound got louder and louder until it was all
I could hear, and then suddenly everything became very quiet. I couldn't
even hear the sounds you usually hear when everything is "silent".
I was in a velvety blackness, but it was not like being in a dark room (I
sensed there were no walls or floor or ceiling) and it was not like being
in outer space (there were no stars and no light at all). Even though I
didn't know what was going on and it was dark, I felt perfectly safe and
"stood" there wondering what was going on. Then I saw a pin prick of light
far ahead of me. I tried to look at it more
closely and see what it was and as I looked it got bigger and bigger. As
it grew I felt better and better. I felt totally known, but totally
accepted and loved. It was THE coolest feeling; words can't even come
close to describing how nice it felt. I was relaxed and very happy. Then I
was inside the light, which was I guess what being inside a cloud would
look like. I felt SO loved! I loved it right back and also I felt that
just beyond the light, which I sensed acted like a veil or curtain in this
case, I was being observed by people who knew me or knew of me and were
smiling. I wanted to see them, whoever they were. The light knew what I was
thinking and so did the people, and I was aware of this and didn't mind.
Then I thought that I could "get used to" how wonderful it felt to be there
(or something was thought to that extent) and then I felt myself being
pulled away, getting heavier and heavier. I didn't like it but I had no
choice and in seconds I felt very heavy and most all of the wonderful
feelings were dissipating. I was upset because I didn't like feeling so
clunky and heavy. I wanted to feel as light as the air and free again, for
lack of better way to put it. I wanted to feel the great way I had felt
before. I was not afraid of dying before but now that God has shown me what Heaven is like,
I actually know what I'm looking forward to: an experience like this and much
more awaits me! I would not want to live again on earth or any other world
if it were possible and meant being away from God for eons or forever.
God's Word, the Bible, says that it is appointed to man once to die,
and then the Judgement, and that is just fine with me! :)"
116) "I overdosed on cocaine. I remember the feeling of just "going out"
quickly and suddenly...not scary or painful, just like sudden darkness or
like being swept away into blackness. My boyfriend was with me and he says
I had seizures and he saw the exact moment when my face went white and he
could see the life leave my eyes. Apparently I had no heartbeat for about 5
minutes or so but he gave me mouth-to-mouth and CPR and sprayed cold water
straight into my eyes and at one point I remember a feeling of being like
in a dream and hearing him asking me if I could feel anything in my leg (he
was pinching me). I couldn't see him and didn't know where I was, but I do
remember hearing him and a weird feeling that I guess could be described as
"floating above" my body. The next thing I remember is waking up in bed
feeling perfectly fine, like I had just woken up from a very nice nap. I
had no memory at all of anything that had happened. My boyfriend was
leaning over me and wouldn't let me move at all. He had this horrible look
on his face that I will never forget and he started telling me what had
happened after he realized that I really had no idea that I had even gone
out. I honestly didn't believe him at first. To this day I still don't
remember any of it from the time I went out (except for that brief period
where I heard him yelling at me). I know this is horrible to say, but I have
absolutely no fear of death anymore and while I am not ready to go (again)
yet, I, almost in a sick way, look forward to it when it happens again. It
was just so peaceful. Weird, huh?"
117) "Hi, I really haven't any NDE's or OOBE's to share, but I do have a question.
Has anyone out there who has had these experiences ever had a bad one? Most of the stories
I've heard have been that they are at peace where ever they go. I was just wondering if anyone
has had an experience where they were not at peace."
118) "I was in bed one night and decided to pray for once. I prayed
for forgiveness for my sins. I had been reading various books such as the
necronomicon, the necromantic ritual book, and books about black magic. I
fell asleep and I awoke half way, sitting up with my eyes open. It took a
minute to see and my face hurt and a grey cloudy figure came from my face
hurting me. I could feel 100% evil and my dog started scratching at the door
and whimpering. I still don't know if I was half way asleep, but it scared the
sh_t out of me."
119) "For a number of years I have done research into NDEs, ancient and
modern. I have noted how every culture around the world has stories about
descents into the underworld, hell, hades, limbo, etc. and ascensions into
higher realms of existences. I have also collected numerous art works that
show these other-realm pilgrimages. Some works show angelic guides
clasping the hands or wrists of those who ascend into paradise. Others show
Christ guiding souls he has rescued out of hell, into paradise. With these
different ancient NDEs came later ritualistic types, symbols, rites,
liturgical dramas, mysteries, and plays which enacted the whole journey of
the soul through different realms of existences. If anyone is interested in
seeing some of these research papers that I have written on this subject, or
has similar type of research, e-mail me, or write to DaRell D. Thorpe,
