Greetings, fellow Cytonians! We here at CVN hope that during this past year you enjoyed all that Cybertown has to offer and look forward to the events planned in 2090 as much as we do. We enjoyed so many contests, Art Gallery shows, avatar competitions, and holiday parties in the Black Sun Club in 2089, they are too numerous to list. We witnessed the unique spectacle of the 3D virtual Mardi Gras parade and Ball in February thanks to the World Builders Guild, several outstanding virtual concerts in the Amphitheater, the opening of the Cybertown Store, and the successful conclusion of the 3D games in the Outlands (and we look forward to future online events in that beautiful world!). We experienced severe Cybertown withdrawal when CT suffered a time warp midyear due to an unexpected encounter with a hyper-spatial disturbance, but we soon recovered with our daily fix of CT. The Adventure Colony came online, Mothership became the Morningstar Colony, the new Cybertown Elders, Templars and Wizards were honored in July. Service was offered to more and more new citizens by expanding the multi-lingual CT FAQs (thanks to all you translators!), and many innovations in the ePlex were developed. Longtime Mayor Flyby and Deputy Mayor crashdummy retired from office and we took part in the first online campaign and election for new government in Town Hall. Cybertown's first democratic vote was duly celebrated at the beautiful End of Term Ball and Inauguration of new officials. The City Advisors group (also known as The Caretakers) was formed - and a big hats off to them! Citizens took advantage of the City Guide tours, the live Crash Show (thank you crash and Vialle), 3D Mazes, innumerable club events, the Virtual Sandcastle Contest (World Builders again), read wonderful weekly issues of the Cybertown Magazine (thank you CVN staff), participated in a huge expansion of the Faces of Cybertown site, and enjoyed wonderful cartoons from CVN Cartoonists K.raptor, flouzemaker and and burningrat. There were new 3D worlds in the burgeoning Suburbs, September 11th memorials, and a 3d Christmas World and Cybertown experienced a dramatic increase in its population. Our virtual predictions for 2090 in Cybertown include: A new tool to make the payment and transfer of city cash between Cytonians easier, improvements to the Mall, a new and improved CERB, and progress on various new colonies. We anticipate that the Hi-Tek Colony will be the first of several new colonies coming online sometime in 2090. Of course, many other colonies have been proposed and the Daily News will keep you updated as we get reports from the City Council. We've have even heard rumors of progress on The Cybertown Bank and a 3D zoo! Also, CVN is working on improvements to its format, thanks to our tireless Managing Editor, jdb_educator and his team. And, for sure, we can all look forward to new competitions and excitements in the ePlex and around town, and superb special events sponsored by Cybertown's great Colonies and their dedicated staffs. CVN thanks all the hardworking members of Cybertown who give so much of their virtual time here in cyberspace. We have learned a great deal from one another and are definitely improved for our association. It's a great game making Cybertown the coolest site on the internet! May all our dreams come true! Here's to 2090 in Cybertown - our best year yet! |
