To C.E.R.B. or not to C.E.R.B., that is the question.
The City Council and all the leaders of our community have taken the Cybertown
from a wide open western town, like Dodge City of the old West, and transformed
it into a very sophisticated, workable and very accessable system, one that
even the most anti-social die hard could marvel at and be proud of. Yet, and
after months of citizens screaming that we need further checks and balances
on the current judicial system, like the Citizens Equity Review Board., there
are still a few that would rather bite off their nose to spite their face than
give a new program a chance.
As your Mayor I am pretty darn proud of our present governmental system and
although no government anywhere is 'perfect', Cybertown with its Constitution,
City Council, Unified Ban and Leaders Code of Ethics policies, and now the Citizens
Equity Review Board, is getting pretty darn close to achieving what only a few
democracy's have been able to dream of, yet alone accomplish.
I have learned that you cannot please all the people all the time and as long
as we have citizens that continue to abuse others, hack for distruction, engage
in cyber-sex with mionors, make death threats, steal, lie and otherwise conduct
themselves in less than honorable ways, rules and policies must be enacted to
protect the majority of well meaning and honest citizens. (the majority, I might
add)
Even those citizens who are banned for the above mentioned reasons are afforded
the right to use the Citizens Equity Review Board to assure them that their
rights are never violated. Together, we can make it happen. How can that be
wrong?
