Reinventing Schools: The Technology is Now!

A convocation sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering entitled "Reinventing Schools: The Technology Is Now". Nearly 100 speakers-including a number who joined the convocation by satellite-discussed the issues associated with the role of technology in the nation's K-12 educational system. There is also a program and list of exhibitors that includes audio and video files from the convocation.

Scholastic Internet Center

A wealth of educational references and materials well-organized and covering a wide range of subjects. Scholastic, Inc., a leading publisher of children's books, classroom and professional magazines and other educational materials, provides the Ultimate Learning Library for free educational material and the Ultimate Education Store for online purchase of educational materials. The Ultimate Learning Library offers free resource materials, activity guides, lesson plans, and public-domain software - all organized by subject, such as middle-school science, reading and language arts. The Ultimate Education Store offers books, magazines and instructional materials for K-12, searchable by grade level, subject, or teaching style.

An excellent site that gives great visual and text information about our solar system.
Virtual Frog Dissection Kit
Allows you to take apart an entire frog on your computer screen. A tutorial walks you through the process, then you can begin your online frog dissection. You can take out and put back organs and change the view of the frog. An image-mapped version displays each organ's name and function when you click on it.
