It’s difficult to know where to start when putting together something like this…

Cybertown has enabled me to meet, interact, and become firm friends with an amazing amount of people from all over the world and from all walks of life. It is a place where you can be yourself with no preconceptions or judgments made based on what you look like, what you do or where you live. You can get to know the real person behind the persona and make treasured friends in the process.

I discovered CT, like a lot of people I guess, through word of mouth. I used to chat a lot on other chat sites and was told by someone I knew there about this wonderful 3D-chat site. A place with jobs and homes with lots to do to keep you entertained and coming back for more, so I popped in and had a look. I first immigrated in May 2001 and was there for about 3 weeks when CT crashed and went through a timewarp. When it came back, I did not have an account and had to re-immigrate again...it was a good excuse to go shopping again though :-) The date I have as immigrating into our community is now June 19 2001.

I have held a number of roles within our community which have all helped me meet, get to know and make friends with some wonderful people.

I first started out as the BD and then BL of the Mirror of Eternity block in the Spirituality neighbourhood in Inner Realms. After a short period of time as a BL I was offered the role of ND in Spirituality where my proudest moment was the opening of a new block called Grace.

I then moved on from that neighbourhood to take up a position as an ND in Informal Paths in Inner Realms. It also gave me the opportunity to work on my first website and newsletter called Pathfinders.

A disagreement with the new NL there led to me leaving Inner Realms and moving to the Adventure colony where I was made the BL of a brand new block called Edge of Grace in Jagged Edge. I was the first to move in and saw the block rapidly expand until it was full within 10 days of opening. It has been my home ever since.

I also had the honour of being appointed as Cybertown’s Ambassador and served a wonderfully enjoyable term in this position. It enabled me to meet some amazing people and to be invited to some fantastic events. It also involved subjecting people at those events to my long winded speeches which thankfully for all who had to listen to them ended earlier this year at the Ambassadors Ball.

These days I still live in Edge of Grace and am now the NL for the Jagged Edge neighbourhood. It is one of the most vibrant and active colony areas within Cybertown and the rapport on the message boards at hood and block level constantly keep us all entertained.

I also act as Ambassador Advisor to the current Ambassadors Council and am part of the CTPartyLine Group which helps to organize City Wide Events. I also submit the occasional article to CVN to publicise events and contests within our community . As well as that, I am also part of the Cybertown Sponsorships Team, which is a group of people who are tasked with engaging and bringing on board corporate sponsors to our community. If you have any queries or feel you can help in any way, or indeed if your organisation would like information on what can be achieved through sponsorship of the Cybertown community, please do not hesitate in contacting me directly.

In real life (RL) I live in London in the UK where I manage IT projects for corporate organizations. I love my work, although it can be demanding and stressful and Cybertown gives me the opportunity to relax and unwind after a long day or week in the office. I can relax and enjoy the atmosphere, community spirit and catching up with friends in an environment that no other virtual world can come close to providing.

I am fortunate enough to be doing a job I love and being part of an online community that I love. I'm always happy to chat to anyone who wants to and I am always looking for the opportunity of making friends and getting to know people more. Cybertown gives me a place for having fun and doing that. That is why I always say...be active and meet people...you never know who you may meet or how valuable a friendship you will make unless you try.

Why not give Cybertown a try if you have not already.

I hope I have not bored you all senseless and I look forward to meeting you all soon.

All the best,
Jason
