Shades of Evil is a Multi-User Dungeon, or MUD for short. To enter a MUD you will need a MUD client for your computer. Select one of the MUD clients from the choices below. Alternatively you may use any telnet application to enter a MUD, however, MUD clients tend to have many extra features designed specifically to aid in game play.

MUD CLIENTS:
PC GMUD 32 (195k) For Windows 3.1 or 95	MAC MUDDweller 1.2 (170k) 68K or PPC

Once you have downloaded a MUD client you may enter Shades of Evil once you are online. Simply open your MUD client and connect to:
soe.nuc.net 6666

You can also set your MUD client up as a helper application for the Netscape Web Browser by going into Netscape's options. Just replace the current telnet helper application with your MUD client. Once you have either a MUD client or telnet application set in Netscape, you may click on the Enter Shades of Evil link below and automatically transport to Shades of Evil.

Are you ready? Take a deep breath and Enter Shades of Evil.

Hint: After entering Shades of Evil, go directly to the MUD school to learn about navigation, weapons and interaction.
