I've been asked to post the whole log from the Town Meeting that
was held on Saturday, rather than just the questions and
answers that I was planning on, so you can view that
HERE. Unfortunately I've been told it's not complete and that the meeting
went on for some time after my log ends, but I haven't found a more
complete log for you. Many people have been asking if they can apply for sponsorship.
The IVN sponsor applications have been closed, as they were never
intended to be a permanent option. Members can still sponsor other
members though, and the link is below the recent Founder Announcement
that I'll leave up a little longer for those who may not have seen
it.
FOUNDER ANNOUNCEMENT:
1) Some editing features have been added to your accounts. You can
now add additional nicknames to existing accounts. You can also
add family members to a Family Account that does not yet have 5
family members.
2) The 30-day Free Trial is active now and will be promoted more
clearly soon.
3) It has been found that a few unscrupulous individuals have been
approaching members with Family Accounts and asking then to add
their nicks for free. The system that will check and prevent a
Primary Nick and any of its additional nicks from being in CT at
the same time will soon be ready and implemented. Additionally an
IP address check will be made when members with Family Accounts
log in and if someone with a different IP address logs in under a
Family Account and they are found not to be a valid family member,
the Family with the Family Account will forfeit their Cybertown
membership.
4) We are looking into allowing members who have businesses to
open up 3D shops in the Mall. If this is something that would
interest you, please let your CL know so that we can get an idea
of the amount of interest. Thank you, Now, here's some links and information that might come in handy for you:

A death: Charles M. Schulz A birth: February 13, 1959 Barbie Millicent Roberts (Barbie doll) went on sale for $2.99.(worth thousands of dollars 40 years later). She was created by Ruth Handler, inspired by a German cartoon character doll that was called *Lilli* that Ruth had seen on a trip to Germany and named after her daughter Barbara. Ruth Handler thought that a doll with a woman's figure would have considerable appeal but her initial proposal was refused. The ideals Ruth wanted the doll to represent were purity and innocence. The full name of Barbie doll is "Barbie Millicent Roberts." She is from Willows, Wisconsin and went to Willows High School. Barbie doll first appeared in the now-famous black and white striped swimsuit and signature ponytail. |

This could actually be considered a "Download of the Week" but the site has some extras that I feel qualify it :o) I'm talking about http://www.wilderssecurity.com which has free membership and what looks like quite a few interesting forums that are all security related, and I know that's on a great number of minds today. The download I mentioned is called SpywareBlaster. SpywareBlaster is a freeware program that doesn't just locate spyware on your system and allow you to delete it-- SpywareBlaster prevents it from being loaded in the first place. The SpywareBlaster database contains information on known spyware Active-X controls.SpywareBlaster can also prevent existing spyware Active-X from running. The program runs in Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP. Get your copy of SpywareBlaster by clicking here. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html The site of the week column is brought to you by Vialle. If you would like to comment on this article or suggest a site of the week for publication in the Daily News, just send an email to CVNDaily@cybertown.com with your CT alias, the URL you are suggesting and the reason why you think it should be a site of the week.

The
purpose of the UBP is to clarify the points made in the Cybertown

for common infractions. The intention is not in any to restrict
freedoms but rather to make participation in the site enjoyable

ATTENTION, CYTONIANS! No
one in Cybertown needs anyone's Cybertown password for anything
ever. You will never be
required to give out your password for a Cybertown job. Whoever
asks for it should be reported to Security immediately!
It
has come to the attention of Cybertown Staff that some people are
being told that in order to have a job in Cybertown they must give
out their Cybertown login password so that they can be given access
rights to do their job. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
Your
login password is yours and yours alone. Please DO NOT give out
your password to anyone in Cybertown for any reason. Any legitimate
person who wants to hire you for a job in Cybertown does not need
your login password for any reason.
Any
legitimate Cybertown or blaxxun staff person will never
ask you for your password. If anyone asks you for your login password
on condition of employment, please report that person's nickname
to Cybertown Security immediately along with a chat log if you have
it.
It's
prudent to change your password frequently. To change your password:
at login click on the "Change Your Password" link on the
right.
Thank
you for helping us keep Cybertown safe and secure!

HELP
GUIDE
Useful new tech info: at this time, Netscape 6 won't work with the 2d chat in Cybertown seemingly due to the new way this Netscape version handles Java. A successful action to get 3D to work is by taking the plugins (npbx3d.dll, npbx3dpro.dll and npbxpro.dll) out of Netscape Communicator's plugin folder and putting them in Netscape 6's plugin folder. Make sure Netscape is shut down before doing that though! The Cybertown Help Files are comprehensive and contain the information you need to survive and flourish in Cybertown. Put together by Tin-Leon with the seal of approval from Red5, Cybertown's Community Operations Manger, and reviewed by the City Guides, it is here for your use.
