CVN Contests Change!
February 8th did not work for the final HOUSE NOMINATIONS submissions date. We EXTENDED it to February 11...and we think there are more worthy houses out there so we are extending it further to February 14. CVN is planning another Holiday House Tour for February, but are moving that date to February 18th. Judging, of course, is delayed too. With luck we will have a web page tour set up on or before Valentines Day.

Time is flying and house nominations are arriving! Here are our first House contestants for our 2D and 3D contests (we'll break that down later): fairymist, pamiepage, GutterPrincess, Jazzella, star_101. So far, in the writing contest, WE have THREE ENTRIES! We just received our VERY first entry into the graphics contest! Excitement mounts. All entries are due on February 15, 2095 by 11:59.59 PM. Short stories, Poetry, and graphic art with the classic theme of love. Sweet and original are our goals. Stories can be 100 words to 1000 words. Poetry no longer than 15 lines. Graphics may be in any standard format. If we can view it, it will be considered. With luck, the winners will be presented in a podcast to the city! Judging wll be completed on or before February 22. The stock market here in Cybertown is quite unpredictable... ya win some, ya lose some! However, we're proud to announce CVN's even more unpredictable first edition of "Stock of the Week". We've all heard the theme of 'Buy Low, Sell High". Sometimes that actually works, but the theme of "Buy High and Sell Lower" may be an even greater theory. No, we're not saying, you should buy your stocks high and when they drop by 20 points, sell. We're suggesting buying a high stock, watching it split, and waiting for it make a small gain (or large) and then sell! The stock to watch this week is "Adventure" (ADV). Coming in at 135 which is the highest priced stock currently on the market.

Over the past 3 months, "Adventure" (ADV) has risen from 102 to its current height of 135 and just a couple more good days could put this stock into splitting territory. We know, you're full of little questions, like will this really work? Of course it MAY. Nothing is guaranteed until delivery! BUT! Stocks typically split somewhere around 225% above the daily average. This means, around 150, with Saturday's average. ADV is only 15 small points from this point, at least as of this writing. You can go to the Cybertown Bank and check where the stock is when you read this. Let's look at it this way, you purchase 50,000 shares of ADV at 135cc each. A little later, it splits 4-1 at 150cc. This would give you 200,000 shares at 38cc per share! Now, ADV would only need to rise by 5 to give you a profit of ONE million CCs! Say it raises to 70 CCs before you sell? You're 6,750,000 investment would now be FOURTEEN MILLION CCs! Welcome to the Cybertown shopping craze...or to other richer investment opportunities...

This theory works well on all high priced stocks.. Buy High, Sell Lower, Win Big! As always, the SM is unpredictable and CVN can be no more at risk when you lose money than we are when you gain money! This reporter is taking this tip, and together, we'll move into the poor house or the 100,000cc Mansion, but I'm counting on the latter.

Subject: Mall Revisions Implemented
The new mall revisions are now in place and the web sites have been updated to reflect the new rules. Here is a summary of the changes to upload rules.

1. Only items that are actually sold in the mall as FREE may be labeled as free. (city/personal holds may no longer be labeled as free).
2. the rules concerning the limitations of series (series rule) has been revoked.
3. Only textures deemed to be original artwork must be signed (carpets, wall hangings, etc...)
4. New File size limitations - wrl 55kb, Texture 40kb, Thumbnail 20kb

Silhouette to be entirely free...

[Founder] Hawk [74659] : told citizens on Saturday, September 16, 2094( that's 2006 for Earthsiders) " It's nice to see so many here - old faces (figuratively) and new faces I did want to tell you about one major change regarding Silhouette... you may remember that originally IVN was going to charge CT members a lower license fee and lower per-minute charges than for non-CT members (about half)... well, after much discussion, IVN has decided to make Silhouette entirely free... for all those CT members who pre-registered and to CT leaders as well as to a number of others as they apply for it With regard to where Silhouette is actually at.... it's been working well for some time now and we have been conducting our bi-weekly staff meetings with it the main thing that has slowed its release is having to combat all the incredible security measures that ISPs now use in order to combat cyber-terrorists and hackers and to make it so that the installation system is really easy for members especially with the number of firewalls that systems now have to go through so that is what is currently being worked on. One good thing out of all this...is that we now have quite a number of interested parties (investors etc.) sniffing around us... as they see we have something quite unique and that could very well change much of the way interaction is done on the net in the future the advantage of investment funds is of course that we can then put efforts into improving and promoting CT since CT will be the first community on the planet to feature it They have something similar on Arcturas 9 :) and the metaverse Anyway. to wrap up... Thank you all so much for continuing to create CT and for your incredible patience while Silhouette has been being developed I intend to make it worth your while. That''s all. I ran across an interesting little game in the Message Board of the Games Colony the other day called the "MAYHEM word". Created by DannyKing, the Colony Leader of Games and loved citizen of Cybertown, and an associate that, sadly, left Cybertown a number of years ago created the game during the time that Danny boasted the title of Outlands Chief. The purpose of creating this interesting game was revealed when Danny said, "We did it in Outlands ‘cause no one had ever done an MB game there."

Involving one five letter word, and a lot of guessing, this intricate game has been gratefully given to all the people needing an activity boost by DannyKing.

Sci-fi's Calendar Still Useful!

This week and the coming weeks activities are posted. Sci-Fi has done their usual superb job and Cybertown sends appreciation and thanks to the Colony and all the workers who contribute so well there. Adventure Colony will be taking over COTM honors in September. For Sci-fi, there have been nightly games time for all CT residents. From Bingo to word scrambles to the ever popular Mad Gab and Lotto. Never a cost to join in - and always fun to share. Friday Nite Horrors Starts 10 PM in Horror - Hood Plaza Chat, duration 2-4 hours, scheduled weekly.

Check the calendar. It is an effective way for the Colony to communicate with citizens. We applaud Sci-fi Colony! Please note they also say: "Never a cost to join in - and always fun to share."
