In this new year of 2096 we changed our simplified voting for 2D and 3D. The form used by judges will be even more easier to use, providing two areas of ranking and comments. We will still look at 2D boards and images, 3D homes and images, and items.

E Card Phishing Attacks Story

It is sad, frustrating, and yet another worry for internet users. MSN GREETINGS reports that " A wide variety of websites and brands have been affected. While the subject line of the malicious ecard email tends to be generic, such as 'You've received an ecard from a class-mate!' or 'You've received a postcard from a family member,'[And that there are even] more recent examples [that] include brand-specific messaging such as 'Worshipper sent you a postcard from msn.americangreetings.com.' Also, the pickup link within a malicious ecard email is most likely always an IP address, such as 127.0.0.1, which is much different than the typically used pickup link from a legitimate ecard sender that starts off with the host name (e.g., msn.americangreetings.com) and not a series of numbers.
As of August 23rd, we have started observing fake emails where the link shows a host name (e.g., http://www.msn.americangreetings.com) but the actual link goes to an IP address instead of msn.americangreetings.com. To see if there is an IP address associated with the link, hover over it with your cursor. If you see a URL when hovering over the link that has a series of numbers, such as http://89.678.999.12, it is not a legitimate link and you should not click on it." Alternatatively you can view the page in text using the "view source option" to inspect the mail more closely, if you have that option available.

The newly appointed Adventure Events CD surely added that new twist to her name. Her Name? Why, Faith, of course! My first dealings with Faith, as a member of CT and a staff leader, was in Inner Realms Fae hood far back in the good ole days of 8 years ago! Faith has always been a hard worker and once again she has stepped up and dove into the task of making yet another successful mark in her books.
Bolstered by the already popular event team of Lambsy, Auracle and Talaskian, this team presented another fun filled event - despite the technical difficulties which beset them at this event! Personally CVN feels they forgot to pay the light bill for the BCS, as the 3d was in the dark, forcing the team to hold a message board vote for their nominations for King, Queen, Prince, and Princess as the final touch in this gala event.
Now songs were never my forte, and I gladly admit, and quickly fell behind in the Song triva to CTChris. But, as we got into the general trivia, I quickly caught up to him , only to lose by one question. I'm betting it was a song question too! Next time, Chris!
I think the best antic of the evening was when it was suggested I be nominated for debutant of the party! Debutant? Isn't that for young ladies entering the adult society? LOL Whew, luckily I received no votes!
Here are the results of the trivia: trivia winner ctchris, d2d second..! Now for the results of the Royalty contest: King: Commander_Riker, Queen: Auracle, Prince: CTChris, and last but not least Princess: Lambsy, who had some extra lanolin rubbed into her wool making her shine and standout in the elections.
Our congratulations go out to the Adventure Events Team for a great job and fun entertainment for all the visitors at this event! However I was disappointed in the lack of Heart being flashed, like that pesky squirrel for added money prizes! Maybe next time Tala?

Hi All,
It is possible you may not have seen the news that long time Cybertown resident, Caretaker and Deputy Mayor Karyll has passed away. Following a battle with cancer, a reaction to treatment had damaged her liver and kidneys and she passed away yesterday.
She is known for her long service to the city, working her way up in Inner Realms Colony until she reached Colony Leader, a position she served with distinction for a long time. Following her retirement from that position, her service was recognized by Hawk when she was offered the position of Caretaker. When I became Mayor, I prevailed on her to take on the Deputy Mayor position because while we disagreed at times, she was always willing to give me her honest opinion of how wrong I was, lol.

"Karyll passed into the light this morning, her suffering and pain have ended. She must surely be in a better place than this.We agree with Wovencroft. And we agree with ablu who sent our memorial image to CVN. She told us "Each time I make one, it becomes harder and more of a sad time."
Keep her, her family and her loved ones in your hearts. Keep her in your memory for she will be with us forever that way."
The Eulogizing will be on the town politics board in Cybertown. It will take a few days before this editor reads and gathers the comments. The posting began when members of the city learned Karyll was in intensive care, and individuals began praying and posting their hopes and prayers.

This snow is expected to last all day and night into Friday morning. So I may lose power and have to go eskimo living! Luckily I have enought groceries and fuel to keep me warm and cozy.
My little dog is having a hard time as he (Bear) is only 8 pounds of dog who thinks he is a grizzly!
Looking out my window I am watching trucks , cars and police cars sliding all over the place. All schools here in town are closed and traffic on the main highways is stopped due to all kinds of accidents. Luckily so far no one is seriously hurt and, I, personally felt like they shouldn't even be on the highways.
The forecast calling for another foot, so I may go off the webways any time soon.
But it may be an interesting off the bare beat story for ya and maybe even encourage others to send in their winter storm stories! Rofl Okay gonna strap on my snowshoes and hit the road for a pack of the cancer nails! See ya when I dig out! And that is truly the Beginning of the Rest of STORY! lol

She became only the 8th person in Cybertown history to cross the 75K experience point barrier in Cybertown. As gamers know, in all games experience, points, money (or awards of some kind) mark the success of individual achievement. Here in Cybertown: experience, honorary titles, and CCs(City Cash) are common markers of success.
Lynn50 (75310)(entry: Wednesday, April 28 1999) told us "I did pass the 75 mark today, lol, gosh time flies. Peace and love, Lynn50" .
THE-OLD-MAN: 75592 - CERB Chief (enter: Wednesday, October 14 1998) C.E.R.B. CHIEF- SAGE was the sixth man, and that really kind of does fit TOM. He's usually around, always a presence and a great help.
MauveCat: 75828- Com.Tech.( entry date: October 11, 1998 ) MauveCat has been through all the ranks even achieving Mayor. His time and extensive experience is now being used in one of the vital Cybertown Com Tech positions .

We know from hunting for them, that many issues seem unavailable. So far our chief researcher tells us, some pages are named incorrectly and hard to find. As stated in the Unified Ban Policy (UBP), if a change is made to that policy, the change will be communicated to the community through the Cybertown Daily News.
Recently a change was required in response to nicknames brought in by new immigrants. The UBP was amended to include a changed sentence which now reads as follows:
"Nicknames created solely to harass or impersonate another Citizen are also prohibited as are nicknames that could cause controversy or arguments, as well as those that reveal personal or private identifying information such as phone numbers, social security numbers etc."
If a nickname is brought in which would violate this provision, it is the nickname only which is banned. The person who brought in the nickname will be directed to contact IVN to obtain a different nickname in order to avoid this problem. By contacting IVN, the new immigrant will avoid the potential of free trial abuse or re-immigrating to avoid a ban.

Antartica Shopping Mall

With the publication of his second article today, kenmann99 moves from cub-reporter to full fledged titled and paid CVN staff! Welcome aboard Ken!
If you are interested in shopping and you have not been over to the new Virtual Worlds Antartica Shopping Mall then you have no idea what you are missing .
I first found out about the mall from reading the message board in Virtual Worlds , after my day was finished I decided to head on over there to see what deals could be found . Now I'm not really a very big shopper , but to be very honest I did find myself a few deals over there .
This new mall has 8 new stores, right now, with something for everyone . The stores are called Bratts Swap N Shop . Sizzlin’s Red Hot Sales , Tasteful Homes Mall , HalfMoon Castle Sales , Chac’s Auto Mall and Street Flee , Sweet Sales Shop , Color Mall and Corner Shopping .
They are set up very well for 2d shopping and also very neat for 3d shopping . As I was in there looking around for this story, a few customers stopped in to do a bit of shopping . I took the extra time to gather a few comments . "This mall is nice." said cam291979 who is our Bank Manager in Cybertown. The other shopper was shoppingqueen. She was very excited about the new mall "This mall is awesome , very fair prices..." In fact she was so impressed that she decided to move into this area and open up a shop of her own .
I also talked with zoozee, the CL of VW, and she told me that anyone who wants to open their own shop is very welcome to move on over . The only thing she asks is that you keep your shop stocked so that everyone can enjoy their shopping .
Where in the world is the Antartica Shopping Mall? The best way to find the Mall is to go to the Virtual Words Colony board and click on Earth Wonders Hood and then Antartica ……… and this will take you to the new Antartica Shopping Mall .

11 is not a bad turnout and it will bet better. Hosted by dusttodust and presented by the SciFi colony this games has been well attended before and consists of Trivia, fun, prizes and cash! Caution: There are also booby prizes so be careful in choosing your door! This contest will also present and occasionaly even date with a CT nic opposite of your gender lol! This game has been well received in the past and is a new addition to the Sci-fi events calendar. Substantial prizes and money can be won in various ways so be sure to catch it each Saturday in the SciFi plaza at 7 pm CyT time!
Thanks to those of you who attended the Doors. We did have a total of 11 players! The big winners today were in cash: LadySilverSplash 31k, loves_wolves with 15k and Deexx with 2k and B-Zot with 2k! Congrats go to Chiromancer who won a nice tree house, and to B-Zot who won a booby prize!!! evereddy won a nice fireplace for his home, congratulations! We hope to see more of you there next Saturday, so check the ads or the event lists for day and time! Dazz won the most of the trivia questions and Chiro was a little leery of the mass amount of trees confronting here and heralded by a monkey, which of course promted Dazz (LSS) to mention she could use her (chiro's) tail to swing like the monkey! B-Zot wished for a booby prize and lo and behold he got one! I want to thank all of you who helped make this event go smoothly as my own help was a no show. It went fairly smoothly, anyway! Thank you all and I hope to see twice as many next Saturday (see the ads or check the events boards) to have much more fun and suspense as promised!

Yes believe it or not there really is a bowling alley in Cybertown . I have been hearing little stories about groups of people who - late at night - have been seen at the bowling alley practicing their skills . To get the real scoop I contacted OeBB2143 who is the Casino Chief, and pretty much the head pin boy at the bowling alley .
OeBB told me that many people have been showing up there and there has been talk about colonies wanting to get teams together for a friendly bit of competition against other colonies .
The Casino also has other games such as the slot machines or the great puppy race . There is plenty of room also and OeBB told me that if a group would like to use the Casino for an event he and his staff would be more then willing to help out in anyway they can .
One more thing to remember when you are at the Bowling alley ……… Lane 2 would not be the lane to use! It seems to have been invaded by some kind of bowling ghost and will not help your score .
So the next time you find yourself with some extra time on your hands and you are not sure what to do ……why not break out your favorite tacky bowling shirt and shoes and head on over to the Casino .

There are tons of objects for which the Museum has not been able to determine with certainty who the creator was.
