RESULTS OF EVIDENTIARY TRIBUNAL HELD REGARDING DUSTSPECK'S PERM BAN
DATA:
This Tribunal was very difficult in that there was a great deal of evidence on both sides to examine and verify and because feelings ran high in town regarding some of the issues. The Tribunal had to weigh the actions committed against any mitigating circumstances, and in any justice issue one has to also weigh the good actions with the bad.
FINDINGS:
The Tribunal finds that Dustspeck did indeed violate the UBP enough times, despite many warnings from Security, to warrant a perm ban.
However the Tribunal also found that many times she was goaded and provoked into such actions by other members who, if Dustpeck was to receive the full penalties under the UBP, then so should the others involved be penalized.
The Tribunal would also like to point out to everyone involved the ignore button in Cybertown chat. This is the most powerful weapon a person can use in an instance of harassment. When it is used you will no longer see any posts made by the person while you are in the same room with them. They cannot harass you if you cannot see what they say and if ignored they will go away. Such people often just want attention and failure by you to give it to them is the worst thing they can have done to them. When you let other people control your actions and reactions then they are controlling you. The ignore button can prevent this.
The Tribunal also found that Dustspeck has done a great deal of work to promote CT and to help new members.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That Dustpeck will be offered one FINAL chance to return to Cybertown on a 6 month probation period. During that period she will do community service work in the plaza as a greeter and help people in the plaza in addition to her duties in Entertainment colony.
In addition she will not be given access to the CTSpirit nickname for use during the probation period. She will also be assigned a sponsor/mentor with tool access to keep a watchful eye on her during this period.
Any further incidents or UBP violations, either in public chat, private chat and whisper or message board posts, will result in the immediate application of a Lifetime Ban with no further chance of appeal or amnesty. Anyone attempting to pick a fight or cause such an incident would also be punished to the full extent under the UBP.
Dustspeck needs to understand that the evidence against her does warrant a perm ban and that she came as close as one come to being expelled from Cybertown and that NO further chances will be given.
We would also like to thank Cybertown Security for their hard work and co-operation in this case. We understand all the hours they have given this matter and feel it did go above and beyond the call of duty and that they acted 100% correctly.
